Zinus Allen Mid Century Wood Platform Bed Frame, King

I was in need of a new guest bed, but I didn't want to break the bank or get bogged down in anything that would be hard to clean around or under. I'm very inclined toward MCM styles, but only in the subtle way. This seemed like a perfect fit, and the color was gorgeous, so I decided to go for it. First off, the box is heavy, so be prepared for that. Putting it together was actually not too difficult, but be sure you follow the steps exactly, because it will get unbalanced if you try to just go your own path. I had all the parts, plus extras, which was very thoughtful. And once it was together, what did I think? I love this bed! It's so stable and firm, without a single wobble in any way. The clearance is right at 6 inches, but there's another few inches above that once past the edges, so the Roomba glides under without a problem, banishing any dust without you having to contort into a pretzel with the vacuum. I put a 12 inch zinus mattress on it, and it really is super comfortable. I tested it, and yes, it's very comfortable for reading it bed too. One note: I put the picture up of one of the boards, which has a small defect in it, though that is from the wood itself, and not machining. It has no impact on performance or even appearance. Overall, I love it, and I highly recommend it!

I've had this bed over a year now and it's held up very, very well. The design is understated and beautiful and the wood and finish are both gorgeous. The slats stay put (they're velcroed to the frame along the entire length of each side, which is a very nice touch) and they've never made a sound. If you're looking for a well-made, sturdy bed this is about the best you will find for the price. Just be aware of this: If you ask Amazon's AI thing how much space is available under the bed it will tell you 8 inches. This is flat-out incorrect. It's 6 inches. As far as I can tell Zinus doesn't claim 8" of clearance anywhere, so the AI monster is just being AI and making something up.

I'm so sick of how most furniture today is just cheap Chinese junk made of particle board and hardware that strips without even trying. This frame set is real wood (at least, that's what it feels like) and includes pretty decent hardware. It took maybe an hour from unboxing to having the complete frame together and I did it myself with no help. It's super easy to assemble, included extra hardware and a small wrench (I used a small electric screwdriver). The quality of the frame itself is above average and well worth the price. It's still an inexpensive, entry frame, but much nicer and sturdier than much of the other budget Chinese junk you see here and on Wayfair.

This was an amazing purchase! I was a little hesitant because of some of the reviews, but I am SO glad I bought it. We got a king size in the espresso color and it goes amazingly with our walnut toned furniture. The assembly of the bed frame was also super easy and took my boyfriend and I about 30 minutes to set up. The wood pieces are heavy and sturdy so when we laid down, it didn't feel cheap or flimsy. Our king mattress also is perfectly fitted up with the bed frame as well! I am extremely happy I got this bed frame and the quality for the price of it is unbeatable.

High quality and easy to assemble! My only complaint is that the sides of the platform don’t extend over the mattress, so the mattress isn’t held in place with anything other than the adhesive provided. Overall, I would still recommend especially for the price and ease of delivery!

I love this bed! I bought this when I bought the Casper One mattress and it works perfect for that. The bed doesn't squeak or make any noise at all - it's very solid. The bed arrived very well packaged - it took me longer to unpack everything than it did to actually put the bed together. The directions were a little confusing but you can easily tell what piece needs to go where so that really wasn't an issue. The hardware is great and everything lined up perfectly. The instructions recommend two people assembling the bed, but I did it myself and it was fine - the only time I really could have used another set of hands is when you connect the side rails to the headboard, but I made it work. This is a great bed for the price!

I've bought many many furniture that needed to be assembled from various online and offline stores. From my experience, IKEA furniture has been the easiest and most well aligned. I mean some of those furnitures are just so terrible and hard to assemble. So when I bought this Zinus bed from Amazon, I expected it to be like other furniture not from IKEA. Holes not aligning, rough edges, etc. To my surprise, this bed was so much better than any furniture I've had to assemble. First, I expected some pieces to be broken since delivery guys often throw packages right at my door. But it was so nicely packaged, nothing was broken or missing. Each Styrofoam that was protecting the frame pieces were all packaged in a plastic bag so no Styrofoam was flying everywhere. I was impressed there. Second, I prepared wood glue to glue some stressed areas so it would be more sturdy. But I didn't need any glue. All the parts were already reinforced that no glue was needed at all. It was a little confusing to understand the instructions at first, since the numbers and letters didn't seem to match the instruction, but once I figured out how it was laid out, it was so much easier than the ikea instructions. Third, all screws and bolts and such were all laid out on a thick paper, marked and sealed so it was easy finding which screw was needed where. It also had plenty of extras in case some rolled in the vent or something. Lastly, the tool that came with was nice and not dinky that I actually used that tool to assemble this bed! It took about 30 minutes for me and my husband to assemble this bed and it's nice and sturdy. You can tell a lot of thought and consideration went into this bed for the consumers to make this bed as easy to assemble as possible and I really appreciate that. If all other zinus furniture is well-made like this bed, I would confidently buy any furniture made by zinus. 100% recommend.

Bed is great addition for our guest room. It looks nice and very sturdy. I also want to thank the manufacturer for the great packing job they did. Not only was it all well protected, but they wrapped the foam so that it didn’t make a mess while unpacking. This little touch was nice to see

Super sturdy! Super easy to set up and love the look!

We just got this bed so I can’t speak to its longevity, but I put it together in under 30m, with help to hold the pieces up only. I’ve built a ton of furniture, and my share of IKEA, and this was frankly the easiest altogether. And it really seems sturdy, too!
