What gauge of wire is used?

Approximately 34 gauge. I measure the resistance of a jumper pair, clipped together at one end, the other ends clipped to a Klein DMM. The meter reads about 1.6 ohms consistently. At 0.27 ohms/ft, 34 gauge wire fits the measurements. Using this to carry any current is a mistake as the voltage drop will be significant. Just using them to measure a voltage into a high-impedance meter should be okay.

I want 4 pieces of red & black, Are these 4 pairs of red and black wires with 4 clips on each group, or are they 4 groups all in 1 casing?

It is 4 pairs with 4 clips on each group.

4 groups of what, photos show 16 individual leads

It’s a package of 4 groups of wires. (16 clips total). They are 4 separate sets. Each set measures 39” from tip to tip of alligator clip. For some reason I’m not able to post photos. Maybe that would help better answer your question. But to be clear, they are attached to wire and not just 16 individual clips. Hopefully this will help.

Good insulation, thin wire, bad clips

This sums it up for me, good insulation, thin flexible wire, but bad clips. The point of having this type of tool on your work bench is to make quick connections but the tiny clips are tedious to use. I suggest you buy a pack and see for yourself. Cheep enough to say not a bad value.
