Hi guys! I just picked up a BOMATA scale and wanted to share a quick first impression. I’ve only had it for a day, but honestly I like it a lot. It’s super simple to use—just two buttons, no nonsense. It remembers the last mode you were in, which is a nice touch, and it shuts off automatically so you’re not wasting battery. It also feels quick and responsive. It beeps when you zero it, which I actually like because you know it’s ready. Accuracy seems solid too—it matches up with another scale I already have. Build quality is better than I expected. It’s got a little heft to it and just feels more “premium” compared to the cheap $15 scales. For around $30, I think it’s worth it. Can’t speak long-term yet, but first impression is definitely positive 👍

I work in a food prep room and needed a waterproof, durable and accurate scale. So far, this unit has more than filled the bill. I chose it because it's supposedly very waterproof and so far, it's exceeded my performance expectations. It sets up and tares faster than the $300 ones provided by the company and it weighs 1/4 as much. It's rechargeable AND accepts AAA batteries. The readout is bright and dims for power conservation. IF it's as waterproof as they claim, I'll be very happy with this purchase. Time will tell but after a month's usage, I would recommend it highly, especially if you work in a wet environment. Update: After several months of daily use, it's proven to be waterproof. I rinse it off and dry it but, per their warning, have never submersed it and it works fine. It occasionally gets "stuck" and after a couple of taps, resumes faithful operation. I think this issue is due to the scale pan getting "stuck" because a light tap or two gets it back to normal. Great product which outperforms the expensive and less reliable Ohaus commercial models we have here. 1 year update: I've used this scale 5 days a week for a 14 months now and it's still as described above. Once every few days, it gets "stuck" as above but a light tap remedies the situation. Do be sure to remove the AAA batteries and dry the compartment if the scale gets wet or else corrosion will form. Absolutely no problem with the display or electronics in spite of daily rinse-offs. The literature states that this scale is not designed for commercial use but between you and me, it's done a yeoman's job at my work place and I know it's more accurate and reliable than the Ohaus scales we're provided. Great product - very pleased and will buy another one if and when this one croaks. Update. My first scale eventually "died" after 18 months of daily use because the battery compartment isn't waterproof and corrosion eventually occurred. I ordered another one just like it and sealed up the battery compartment door with Gorilla tape and will just use the rechargeable batteries it contains. After 4 months, this one works just as well as the other and the rechargeable batteries stay charged for what seems like months! I was recently transferred into a refrigerated workroom and after several hours, the scale started "freezing" but since I began placing it on a piece of cardboard (instead of the stainless steel countertop), it's worked flawlessly. Great product outperforming the "professional" models which cost 10x as much.

If you need a scale to do small-increment kitchen measurements, this is pretty much the perfect scale. Having a raised tray makes it easy to put any bowl onto it and get an accurate measurement. Completely flush scales I've used sometimes don't accommodate the entire bowl, allowing some of the non-tray parts of the scale to support it and give an inaccurate reading. It holds a charge for a month with daily use, and charges quickly. It's easy to read, the backlight makes it easy to use in most any condition. It's accurate enough for me to use it to measure everything from tea leaves to beef. Standard units of measurement are all available. There aren't any unique units (such as "ml of milk" as some scales provide), but for general use this provides everything you would want. It's water-resistant enough to survive all kinds of potential spills, and very easy to clean. The design is attractive enough for me to keep it on the countertop even when not in use. Highly recommend.

I got this to replace a scale that was only accurate to 5g +/-. This scale is very accurate. I tested it with both a 5gm calibration weight, and a 1kg calibration weight. both measured right to the advertised specifications of the scale. It's rechargeable too, so no batteries to replace. I highly recommend it.

I bought another model from the same brand that is fantastic but these have had issues since the start. The “touch” buttons are very unreliable. The scales also have started having a crazy delay from putting weight on them to readout. Furthermore they both seem to randomly cycle through all of the different units sometimes and I have to power cycle to fix it. I’ve had issues with the tare function since the beginning. In general the buttons being unresponsive is the biggest issue.

I use this several times a week since I bought it over a year ago. Works great.
