Great value
This is an actual triggered sound. 7 adjustable different sounds. Tracks perfectly but the polyphonic effect only works on a couple of the channels. However you can play very fast and it tracks. I got it for $75. Works much better than some others I tried costing hundreds more. Definitely better than the Boss pedal. Pairs nicely with a distortion pedal.

Works best with a digital multI effects companion great for the price
On its own it gets old fast even though it's extremely fun the effects aren't really something your going to use twice ,but where it really shines was with my boss multi effects ,the multi effects pedal adds alot more drive, and you can go in a change the parameters of each effect then turn into to synth with the E7,I found it worked way better with the multi effects then my analog pedals just because of the ability to adjust and ease of accessing hundreds of effects with a whole new synth sound.a game changer.it still plays more like a trigger with only so much sensitivity, but add in to an existing effect and you got a game changer.

Good pedal with a HUGE flaw
This a good pedal with one huge flaw that severely hampers its usability. The LFO on modes 3 (Sea Wave), 4 (Weeyo), and 5 (Sawtooth) makes them completely unusable for any application. This is not a subjective matter of taste, it is an objective fact. The depth and rate of the oscillator cannot be altered, and there is no way to turn it off. It completely drowns out my playing. One of the effected modes is named Weeyo and that's fitting because the "weeyo" of the LFO is all you can hear. Shocked that this flaw made it past the design phase. The E7 does have some significant strengths though. It tracks very well (comparable to my Boss SY-1), and I appreciate the ability to control the attack parameter and save presets for each mode (features the SY-1 lacks). The E7 has a USB port for firmware updates, so hopefully the atrocious LFO can be fixed in the future. However as of Feb 2023 no updates have been released. Until then, my opinion is that this pedal has some cool sounds and good qualities but I can't recommend buying it.

The LFO ruins it
First and foremost, this is a good pedal. Its a lot of fun, opened up my creativity, and I can get a lot of nice sounds. For a $100 synth pedal, this is a fair deal. I love the arpeggiating switch for each of the seven sounds. The color and style is great. If you are into experimenting and appreciate 70s/80's synth music, you will like this. But theres a huge problem that makes 3 of the 7 synths (sounds 3, 4, 5) for me hard to work with and its the LFO effect. You hear more of an LFO effect than the synth sound itself and you pick this up after 15-30 seconds of playing it. Its annoying. I can't play this in front of other people. It's that bad. It's just a huge "SCHWEEEOOOOEEEEEOOOOSCHWEEEOOOOEEEEEOOOO" sound placed on top of a subtle synth sound and its WAAAAAY too distracting. The LFO effect is completely unnecessary and if I wanted that, I could have just added a flanger/phaser pedal seperately at the end of the mix. The LFO sound is so dominant I can barely hear the actual sound of the synth unless i turn down speed to 0, and even so, its very dominant, just slower. I can't really see it be used in a recording setting, as the speeds can mess around with the tempos you want to record in. This is embarrassingly bad, and I'm surprised its not brought up much in other reviews. Quite frankly, this is enough to kill the pedal, and I'm very surprised that this passed QA and everyone at Mooer thought this was acceptable. I thought that since there is a USB port, there had to be patches to somehow fix this, but so far nothing. I'm not even sure if it would be possible. But whatever, 4/7 is not so bad! Other problems? Sometimes the pedal kills the signal of my rig, and I'd have to unplug it and replug to get it working again, but at least the bypass works. Additionally, there's sudden jumps in volumes and pops that which may require additional compression and EQing to make it sound better. The only other synth like pedal I had was the Korg miku pedal, and I never had that type of issue with popping sounds, so I can't really blame the technology. I assume this a first for Mooer, so I won't be that harsh about it, but I don't think the pedal went through a fair QA process. But its a $100 synth pedal, so cool.

Great for the price
Most of the settings are a combination of octave/fuzz and reverb/delays to create the 'horn' and 'piano' sounds. I've found it most useful following a distorted effect and adjusting the mix to create some extra octave flourish. I don't mess with the arpeggios, just didn't find them personally interesting. The more expensive synth will blow this little guy out as far as accurate synth sounds, but for the price its a nice pedal to add and experiment with.
