Very easy to program, other than most others!
Worked right away, so easy to program! The last system took days to figure out how to program and was never reliable. This one has been up and running for a few weeks now and was easy to program nigh time and morning for on and off, and also has a photocell for auto turn off for dusk and dawn. Happy so far!

Great brand!
I am replacing a very old Malibu transformer with this one. The old one has served me for over 8 years. Only reason I’m replacing it is because the timer stopped working. I’ll keep it for a backup and hope this one makes it as long. Now that lights are LED, 200 watts is probably overkill. I’d need 100 2 watt lights to max this out. Crazy since I used to install night lighting and the average bulb light was 25 watts each. Times are changing. Like that it has a dusk sensor to automatically turn on.

Seems To Be New Old Stock
Malibu apparently hasn't made these since 2014. You may wish to google that for yourself. My unit failed within about two months of purchasing it. The failed portion of the unit is the circuit board under the unit's control panel; very likely the rechargeable coin cell battery (LIR2032) that is SOLDERED TO THE CIRCUIT BOARD! All batteries fail eventually. Why in the world would someone design a circuit board with a battery soldered directly to it, instead of a battery HOLDER soldered to it, which would allow replacement of the battery. This unit was well within the 1 year warranty period, so I contacted Amazon. Amazon was quite helpful to me as far as contacting the "manufacturer". The Amazon representative told me it was very likely I would not have to return the unit; the manufacturer would just send me another one. I wish that had been the case, but no, first the manufacturer wanted me to send pictures, which I did. Then the manufacturer asked me to return the unit, and to be sure to pack it up carefully to prevent damage. It would have been one thing to drop by the UPS Store so they could scan a return code, pack it up, and ship it. To be fair the "manufacturer" emailed me a return shipping label, so returning it would not have cost me anything, other than the time and effort of uninstalling the unit, packing it carefully, and mailing it, only to be sent another unit manufactured in 2014 or earlier, likely with another battery near failure. So I emailed the "manufacturer" to say that I didn't want to return the bad unit, but did want them to send me a replacement. A representative of the "manufacturer" called me to discuss this. The short version of what he told me was that they used to send out warranty replacement units without requiring the customer to return the failed unit, but they don't do that anymore. Well ok then. The unit is fairly easy to disassemble. I was fairly positive that the actual transformer within the unit was fine, but that the circuit board and associated control relay were bad; very likely because of a failed battery. So, I opened the unit, wired around the circuit board and relay, kept the overload protection device in the circuit, and put it back together. This resulted in a unit that stays on as long as it's plugged in. It's plugged into a smart outdoor outlet which allows me greater timing flexibility than the timer that was part of the unit. Then, for no particularly good reason, I ordered a replacement battery, and a battery holder, from Amazon. I'll desolder the battery from the circuit board, and solder the battery holder in its place, which should result in a fully functional unit with a significant design improvement. The bottom line, literally, is that I definitely wouldn't recommend purchasing this outdoor lighting power supply.Update:Upon further investigation, the LIR2032 battery on my unit's circuit board tested at 3.7 volts, so there is no issue with the battery. This likely makes sense, primarily because the battery's funtion is to maintain the unit's settings during power outages, so it's not critical to the unit's normal, connected to power, operation. However, my unit's display, which is part of the circuit board, continues to flash on and off, and generally act like it is not receiving power steadily. The remaining possible culprit is the unit's relay, which is connected to line voltage (120VAC), and transmits that line voltage to the transformer when the circuit board tell it to. The rub is that the relay ALSO provides power to the circuit board via the 3 pin connector from the relay to the circuit board. As far as I can tell that relay is not available anywhere :( So, as before this update, my unit's transformer is wired direct, but only receives power when the outdoor smart outlet it's plugged into sends it power.

Easy to Setup and Use
This product was so easy to set up. The directions are included and the package, but it is so intuitive that you barely have to consult them. There are four easy steps to get this product going. 1. Determine where you want to install the unit and screw in the wires. 2. Drill holes in the wall, install the included hardware and hang the unit on the wall. 3. Set the time, and 4. set the type of activation you want. (static on and off, sensor based on and off, time elapsed on and off or specific time set up.) If you set a specific time set to go on and off you must set the timer. (optional)The one criticism I have is that the unit does not automatically account for daylight savings time. So you will have to manually interact with the unit twice a year. However, this may not be a big issue especially if you use the light sensor for turning the unit on and off.

Handles our outdoor lighting needs.
We purchased this power supply to power our outdoor lighting when the original one failed. I really like this power supply as it was reasonably priced and has a built in circuit breaker. This is a waterproof supply which gives you options for how long our lighting is one each day. It was very easy to install and powers all our landscape lights with power to spare.
