Easy install and saves thousands
I'm a 20-something woman who recently bought a 2015 Ford Escape Titanium and was disappointed to find that it had a Sync 2 MyTouch radio which was frankly excruciating to use. I negotiated the dealer down on price due to the lack of CarPlay, and began looking into having it replaced. Two different AV shops in town quoted me $2300 and $2500 for the work, respectively, and advised that it would take a few hours. Those prices are roughly 20% of the car's value and I was simply not willing to pay that, but still really wanted/needed CarPlay for navigation purposes. I have a degree in electronic media production and attended audio engineering school, so I was sure that the replacement was something I could handle on my own. After researching parts and watching several videos, I landed on this kit. I messaged the seller with my VIN prior to purchase to be sure that it would be compatible, and the seller responded promptly and was very polite. I purchased the kit. The kit shipped on a Thursday and arrived Tuesday morning - extremely fast for international shipping. I had a meeting out of town that afternoon, so I wanted to go ahead and get it installed. I took the box to the car and opened it, finding separate, carefully wrapped packets with the APIM and screen module, screwdrivers and pry tools, a new GPS antenna, and the USB replacement hub and power cable. A sheet of paper in the package provided a link to an installation video - it was one I had already watched during my research! With my laptop in the passenger seat, it took me about 30 to 45 minutes to install from opening the dash to closing it. The screen is a perfect fit and works seamlessly. It looks factory installed and the kit included everything I needed. Fast Facts: - Complete kit - Comes programmed to your VIN - Links to thorough install video - Includes wireless CarPlay adapter - New USB hub includes both 2.0 and C ports - Plug and play - Compatible with steering wheel audio controls - Module can connect to WiFi - New GPS antenna allows internal navigation to work without CarPlay I do have a background in media and audio, but even if I hadn't, this would have been a simple install. It really is plug and play with no splicing required. I am extremely glad I bought this kit - I saved myself almost $1800, and my car is now totally perfect!

Great Christmas or Birthday Gift - As good as a new car!
We handed our 2015 Ford Fusion down to our son to go to college. He was driving a Chevy Bolt EV with Car Play. He felt like he went back to the dark ages with the Sync 3. So, we thought the Sync 4 with Car Play would be a great Christmas Gift. A dealer upgrade was in the thousands, so I was afraid this was too good to be true. Perhaps fake reviews - but this upgrade was exactly as advertised and as others have commented. Other than it took about 1.5 hours to install when taking care not to break any plastic, periodically referencing the video, and cleaning the nooks and crannies while it all was open. However, the big time suck was the shipping screen protector that states to keep it on during installation wouldn't come off once the bezel was back in place. We didn't catch that the bezel covered all edges as we snapped it together. So, we had to unsnap and unscrew again to peel it off. Be sure to install the nav behind the speedometer as shown in the video - don't wimp out on that. It's not any more difficult than the center console work. Use the bread-tie that comes on the GPS excess cable to secure the cable to the existing harness in the dash so it doesn't vibrate and make a noise. The kit came with a tempered glass screen cover. I put a fingerprint on the inside and at first felt doomed. I simply peeled it back up and used an alcohol pad and a microfiber cloth to clean it up and it clinged perfectly fine. When testing it, the rear camera steering tracker lines didn't respond to turning the steering wheel. I re-read the instructions and realized I didn't do the master reset. Not sure if that was it, but I did that and drove around the block and the steering tracker lines showed up on the next backup. It might have been I needed to turn the wheel far enough for it to calibrate or something - don't know, but it works perfectly now. The additional wireless Car Play module had an update that can be installed if you connect to the module's adhoc wifi per its instructions. The web interface is good, but doesn't let you know that it is downloading the update. So, only hit the update button once or you'll do like we did and it will attempt to run 5 of them all at once with several errors. The only thing that didn't work as I wish it would was the USB bezel doesn't snap into place that goes into the center console. So, when I pull out the usb, the whole contraption comes with it. You have to hold it in place to unplug. Otherwise, great product! Well worth it. Breaths new life into the car.

Best Easy Upgrade 2016 F 250
I’ve been looking for a Sync 2 to Sync 3 upgrade for a year. Cost always seemed too high for those “Made in the USA” they were about the same as “upgrading” to a tablet style Android unit - which I am wary of due to quality concerns. While looking at those I stumbled across this unit; the price is reasonable and it looked good in photos and it has received a number of high rated reviews. I emailed the vendor a question and they responded quickly, which made me a little more confident that if something does go wrong they are at least monitoring email. I took the plunge late Sunday and received it today, that’s four days ahead of schedule. The shipping box was of surprisingly high quality, and the packaging was excellent, clearly intended to protect the contents. Upon unpacking I found a note that due to supply issues my screen had been upgraded to a higher resolution, faster, more responsive touch screen. Installation took exactly 36:22 including watching the 10 minute installation video. I turned the truck on to test before I put the dash back together and everything was in order. Once I had everything snapped back in place I installed the included wireless adapter. I had a wired connection in my Tacoma and it was irritating if I had to send a text when I was parked or use my phone to make a payment at a drive through window or use an ATM as CarPlay stops when disconnected from USB. I’ve synced a few times and no problems so far. Even over wireless it is fast and beautiful and everything I could have hoped for. Climate controls work great, and my backup camera with active parking lines works perfect - I can even zoom in when I’m hitching up (which must have been present in the previous system but I didn’t notice) - as long as everything keeps functioning I couldn’t be more pleased to have made this purchase.

Easy all the way around
Had everything in the kit for a simple install. Took about 30 minutes from opening the box, watching an install video to having a completed install. Sound quality is great, picture quality is excellent, touch functionality is perfect and all of my steering wheel controls still work. Prior to shipping, I was contacted to provide my VIN so that they could pre-program it. So even one less step.

Disappointed
I recently upgraded to the F350 Sync 3 system, and my experience has been extremely disappointing. Despite the initial excitement, this upgrade has turned into a frustrating ordeal. Firstly, the technical support for this product is severely lacking. Every time I reach out for assistance, I encounter delayed responses, making the troubleshooting process painfully slow. Secondly, I have faced continued issues with the system powering down randomly. This erratic behavior is not only inconvenient but also undermines the reliability of the system. Additionally, the GPS functionality is far from satisfactory. Despite placing the antenna unobstructed on the dash, the GPS consistently fails to show accurate locations. This inaccuracy renders the navigation feature virtually useless. It's worth mentioning that when the system does work, it performs well and is noticeably faster compared to the older model. However, these moments of efficiency are overshadowed by the constant bugs and issues. It's clear that this product is not OEM, and the numerous problems highlight its subpar quality. Overall, I cannot recommend the F350 Sync 3 upgrade due to its unreliable performance and inadequate support. Save yourself the frustration and look for a more dependable alternative.

Works as described thus far.
Initial review. Just got done installing it in a 2016 Explorer. Was super easy following the video online. Was nice that it came with a small tool kit with everything you need. Said it would take a long time to get GPS location the first time and it did not. It was immediate. The Apple CarPlay dongle that came with it works as expected. Screen is clear and functions perfectly. Was a great upgrade for my son’s first car. Plan to get another one for the 2016 fusion we have.

Awesome Product, but Navigation Is Not Working
This product has been awesome so far. Easy install, easy wireless connection for CarPlay and awesome features. The only issue I’m having is, I paid for navigation, but it is not working. It says no GPS, which I assume is because the feature wasn’t added. I would greatly appreciate assistance with this, as I love my Sync 3.4 upgrade. Seller contacted me with 24 hours of purchase, asked for my VIN and customized for my vehicle. Awesome product and customer service. Please assist with Navigation issue!

Easiest Upgrade You'll Ever Make
This upgrade kit for a 2019 Ford Escape SEL arrived a week early. Big, big kudos to HaneX for very timely delivery... even during period of supply chain issues. The system easily installs, and just about anyone can do it. The process simply involves removing trim including 2 screws, connectors to trim pieces, 4 screws that hold in the existing touch screen, removing those connectors, and finally removing the holding brackets from the old touch screen. Installing the new touch screen is literally doing this in reverse with the exception of adding the CarPlay antenna. For the 2019 Escape, the existing external antenna will service the entire system including the navigation component. Then one simply needs to put all the screws and trim back into place and -- voila -- done! I would like to give an additional compliment to the HaneX support team who contacted me to make certain I knew what I wanted as the existing touch screen in 2019 Escapes already used Sync 3. I got this to upgrade to the on-board navigation system and a few other minor items. However, the fact HaneX wanted to confirm my purchase says a lot about them and their sense of integrity. Last note. You can use the Amazon messenger system to supply your VIN to HaneX in order for them to activate any existing services. Make sure you do this. It's fast and easy. Given that the local dealership wants to charge almost $1,600.00 to perform the same upgrade, the price for this kit is less than half just for doing the install yourself... and you still get Ford-approved components. ETA: Upgraded the rating to 5 stars because 1) they did not send cables were I did not need, and I misunderstood that, 2) this unit is awesome, 3) and I can't believe how simple it was to install myself.
