55W Non-Submersible UV Ultraviolet 27" Light Clarifier Lamp Filter for Aquarium Koi Pond Fish Tank

After researching UV-C lights for swimming pool Maintenace I bought this one for an 8000 gallon pool. (This is the same design and lamp type sold at pool supply stores for 3 to 4 times the cost.) I bought it in spring of 2019 and have used it every day 12 months of the year since. Replaced the lamp once. I just bought my second one as the main body after three years has developed a length wise crack and a small leak. It did take a bit of ingenuity to adapt the fittings to my pools plumbing. Great value for investment

It took care of suspended agile, but we are still dealing with filamentous string agile. I am not disappointed with the results though. We live in the North West and have a 2,000 gallon goldfish pond that uses a 1/3 Hp high flow pump from a company in Portland. The "Algaefix" works too well, almost, and cuts of oxygen, yet this thing seems to keep things in check between treatments.The UV tube it comes with is really cheep and only lasted 2 months. The electronic power head was not the problem, we had to get a new UV tube. All was good after that. The plastic and seals are holding up just fine.

Had the unit running for less then a yr and decided to take down the tank. Whe. I opened it to see what shape it was in. There was rust everywhere. Wish I never used this light cause I'm sure now it was the downfall of my tank. You can imagine nothing was living.

I've had a few ponds over the years and while the water always tested fine, I never had clear water. After spending thousands of dollars on chemicals over the years, I decided to give this a try. I'ts fantastic! I will say, running 24 hrs a day, it took a few months to clear but I can finally see the bottom of my pond where as before I could only see about a foot down. I have a 7500 gallon pond, up to 4 ft deep with 7 medium to large Koi, a skimmer and falls. I do have a 2x6 laying over the top of it to keep most of the rain off of it. I am very pleased with this purchase!

The water cleared of alge but turn gray looking. Still waiting to see if the filter can handle the cloudy appearance. So, I guess it did the job in about four days with a 900 pomp through 1 inch tube and a 1400 gallon pond. I put clear tables and the return line at night is blue from the bulb, makes it interesting.

I use this in a 2200 gal garden pond for algae control & it has been working fine for 3 months. Easy to adapt & use. I run it 4-8 hours every day.
