Very good for cleaning off my Baking Steel and I imagine it would work well on a grill grate as well. Residue is easy to wipe off with a paper towel right into the trash. No nasty smell like some other grill bricks. Only negative aspects is how fast they wear down and I wish the price was a little lower but I will definitely buy again when I run out.

This is the stuff
I was using these and they worked great! then i was at a big box store and bough a replacement that was a "big" grilling name company. they did not work at all, just got gummed up with the grill grease. their blocks where denser and did not provide enough scrubbing action. so i am back to these Earth ones. they powder up just enough so the grease does not gum up the stone. yet are abrasive enough to clean the toughest crud. Of course, it does help if you burn off the crud a little first. But what other way will you use to clean the grate? Brillo pads disintegrate too quickly. Wire brushes have the potential for you eating a stainless steel wire and ending up in the hospital. this is the best option.

Good product good value
I use this product exclusively to clean my BBQ grill. It leave a little residue that I use a soapy paper towel to clean up. This is a sure way not to ingesting a piece of wire brush residue. The only negative is that there soft and last maybe half a dozen uses if you grill is really trashed. There are $6 each at Home Depot. So a good value.

Long Lasting
My husband is the grill cleaner and he loves these. They take all the gunk off and last a long time. The form to your grill grate as you use them. We have the handle that holds the stone. I am not sure how easy they would be to use without the handle. I was not been able to find them at the store anymore so I tried any other options and he hated them all. Finally I decided to search on Amazon and was able to find them. He is happy to be cleaning he grill again and so am I!

Sacrifices itself to clean your top
It cleans our Blackstone very well but it took the entire brick. So account for one Block per deep clean.
