good product for me
I started using this product years ago for overall health and for whatever reason stopped taking it and then about 6 years ago had a knee injury and I started taking the Nature's Way grape seed extract 100 mg coupled with 200 mg of vitamin C (absorbic acid). [Note: the manufacturer no longer puts the vitamin C in the product, but I still take the vitamin C.] Within a week my knee pain was virtually gone, blood pressure is good, heart rate is good, and my doctor tells me every year at my annual physical to keep doing what I'm doing. I do also exercise regularly approximately 30 minutes a day alternating between cardio and resistance training and try to eat healthy at least 90% of the time. And most importantly follow the Good Shepherd that laid his life down for the Sheep. One final cautionary note, I would stay in the 100mg range as there are some products out there that are up to 400 mg or more. more is not necessarily better and in fact could be detrimental. If in doubt consult your physician or health practitioner. Hope this helps someone. Be blessed in Jesus name

Indispensible Supplement but Buy Elsewhere
2025 Update: Nature's Way redesigned the packaging so that it now resembles everything else in my supplement drawer. (One of my two degrees is in graphic art so I have to question how this was an upgrade vs. a cost savings.) At any rate, I had hoped it would have no impact on the contents and performance but the capsules are only half full and my blood pressure is up. I am sorry to say after many years of faithful use, I will be looking for another brand going forward. It's sad to see one of my favorite brands out of the many supplements I take go downhill like this. I take a lot of supplements to maintain my health, reduce aches and pains and such — but this particular Nature's Way Grapeseed Extract is in a class of its own. I am at the age where my older siblings/relatives began taking blood pressure medications. I am trying to avoid that as long as I can by going the natural route.. After doing a month or so of daily BP monitoring, my my doctor did not think it necessary to be on meds just yet. However, the few times I have seen hypertensive spikes it was hitting about 159/90, which terrified me so I didn't want to do absolutely nothing. This supplement filled in the gap. Since I began taking this, I have only had spikes that high about 2x per year vs. 5x per year prior to that. (Another supplement that is helpful in this regard is Olive Leaf Extract so when a low sodium diet, exercise and Grapeseed extract no longer work for me, I'll see how much longer I can go the natural route by adding in Olive Leaf.) Now to be clear, health supplements are not sold to diagnose, cure or treat any disease. Having said that, I find Grapeseed to be indispensable. I only wish that the company had not ditched their distinctive squared off bottles with purple lids to this nondescript dark brown bottle that looks like every other supplement bottle I own. Whomever authorized the recent (2025) packaging redesign failed to improve upon the brand. I can only hope that the quality hasn’t changed. To that end, the capsules are not quite the same color as they were in the past and it looks like they also aren’t filled as consistently. The jury is still out but I hope they haven’t cheapened the formula, otherwise I will have to start looking to other brands.

Grape Seed Extract's a Powerful Supplement: Cardiovascular, Eye Health, Concentration Enhancer
Grape Seed Extract (NOT to be confused with GRAPEFRUIT Seed Extract) is a potent natural antioxidant that studies show has powerful positive effects on cardiovascular health, eye health, and may have some positive effects on cognition. I've had a very mild case of attention deficit disorder all my life (which briefly means, I'm a GREAT daydreamer), but I find grape seed extract helps me concentrate during "tough" projects; I really like its "focusing" effect. I've also done extensive recreational research on this supplement, and there are some exciting studies looking at possible benefits for Alzheimer's patients. It's also being studied as a possibly powerful maintainer of foveal health (important light sensing cells in the back of the retina of the eye). It also may heip improve circulatory issues, including helping reduce or even heal "spider veins," especially if combined with oral Vitamin E. I trust Nature's Way supplements; they're an affordable, high quality supplement option & Amazon offers a great price on this grape seed supplement via its Subscribe & Save service. This is one of my foundational daily supplements; I recommend this most highly! === Have a question about this grape seed extract? Leave a comment & I'll be happy to help you, if I can.

Had my doubts...
My left leg has varicose veins. They cause my leg to ache!!! I have had surgery on them before twice! They keep coming back in different places. It's time to have it done again I think. I read an article from the Mayo Clinic regarding grape seed and how it's supposed to heal them. Ok that is a trusted resource... but then again what manufacturer can you really trust? They really aren't regulated very well. Often times you think you are buying an herbal remedy and it then later you find out the manufacturer didn't add ANY of those things in it. Jerks. I know. I took a gamble and tried it. It sounded like this manufacturer could be trusted. And for $11 I may as well try it for a month to see if I could notice a change... I've been taking 1 pill every night for the past week. I take it at night because by the time I am heading to bed my left leg aches and my left foot is usually swollen. I figured I'd be able to gauge better if it's helping at all. The 2nd night I took it I realized my leg really wasn't aching that bad. I didn't need to take tylenol for the ache. It was there but mild. My foot was still swollen. 3rd night, mild ache again. Nothing I needed to take a Tylenol for. My foot was still swollen. This went on until last night. The 7th night. My leg did not ache at all! Not even mild discomfort. Woo hoo! I think it might be working! My left foot still had some edema and my leg is still ugly with big old rope veins sticking out. BUT! I don't think my foot is as swollen as it typically is. I wish I would have kept a better log on the swelling now. The real test will be when I work two 12 hour shifts in a row running around all day. That happens in another week. If there is a conciderable difference, I will be more then pleased! I will update this then to give the results!

Grape Seed Extract has a bitter taste
I can't swallow big pills or capsules. I need to pull the capsules apart and stir the contents into applesauce or other food. Unfortunately, these pills have a bitter taste and they taste too bad for me to take them. I gave 4 stars because I use other supplements from this company and their quality has always been good. Hawthorn extract can be stirred into applesauce. It has an herbal taste. Gabapentin capsules can not be stirred into applesauce or food. Gabapenton has the worst taste of all pills I have tested. However, Gabapenton comes in a liquid. I add the liquid Gabapenton to some apple juice, then chase it with apple juice. Gabapenton liquid in apple juice reminds me of cough syrup. I will look for another product that may offer similar benefits as the grape seed extract.
