This Smallrig cage with hand grip for the Sony a6100 is a must have! There are plenty of mounts along the cage so you won’t have any issues setting up your camera rig. At first I was hesitant about the larger silicone grip but I would definitely recommend getting a cage with the grip. It makes the camera comfortably fit better in your hands especially since the Sony APSC camera are a bit small. It’s very easy to mount to your camera with the built in magnetic tool. The solid aluminum build will help protect your camera from random bumps. Absolutely worth it!

Instantly fell in love with the sturdy quality! I was skeptical about purchasing this because some people said it did or didn't work for their a6000. By happy surprise, it does! Just make sure you take out the pin on the grip-side so you can secure the camera's side-loop. I was annoyed that the stock Sony a6000 came with these triangle-like loops that I needed to be removed so the above is possible. But I kept the one on the other side on so I can still wear my strap. Speaking of the grip, the size is perfect for my bigger hands (if you're a pianist, I can reach an octave + 1 whole step thumb and pinky). I can still attach my tripod bottom to the cage, it has multiple spots to screw it in with the same size as the bottom that screws into the camera. No wobbling or shaking, I am very happy with this. A bit disappointed that SmallRig's items are a bit complicated to understand for the novice photographer.

Great quality. Grip feels nice for large hands. Lots of space for attachments. Fits the camera perfectly. You can also use a lot of different kinds of straps for extra security. Bonus for this cage it adds extra protection.

Fantastic cage for the a6400. Installation is very easy with just two mounting points: the right-side camera strap mount and the baseplate underneath. Remember to unscrew the mounting point on the rig first. There are no instructions, but it is straightforward. It adds a little weight, but that is a small trade-off for protecting your camera. The cage comes with a magnetic tool that sits at the bottom, so no separate bag is needed. The larger handle is excellent. The a6400’s small frame can feel awkward to hold, and this handle makes it much more comfortable. Highly recommended.

Fits both my A6000 and A6400. (just remember to remove the screw first, then re-install it) I bought this primarely for the 6400 as this is my travel camera. My camera gets put into my motorcycles panniers, gets tossed in the back seat of the Jeep and gets bounced around on my mountain bike (I really do take care of my gear) and I figured this is the perfect tool to protect my camera from any accidental damage. The added bonus is the ability to mount accessories if I ever decide to use the camera for video…Very nice product, and in addition, great for larger hands like mine.

Put this on a Sony A6400 Mirrorless camera. Easy installation took less than a minute, fits great. It allows room to still have your hand/wrist/neck straps, and still can mount the body onto tripods. I do enjoy how it gives me a larger surface to grip the camera and hold it still better. As far as weight goes, it does add a little bit to the camera, but it also adds a slight peace of mind of some level of protection. As the title states "Temporary 5/5" is due to me not willing to drop it intentionally. If that day ever happens, I'll update this review with details of the durability at that point.

This is great! Light and great for adding better grip for people with big hands. Lots of mounting points and makes me a bit less worried if I drop it. Solid build and very easy to install. Only negative is that if you don’t have a set of extra batteries and separate charger you’ll have to take it off to hook up the charging cable to the camera. Otherwise it’s great!
