Newhouse Hardware White 2-Note Wired Mechanical Door Bell Chime CHM1

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

Very happy with all the options to buy what ever I want but I found what I needed exactly and works perfect.

It works, however, this doorbell has one plunger. When the doorbell is pushed, the magnetic plunger rises for The first chime, has good tone. On the second chime the plunger releases (free falls ) and hits the second chime and it’s not as strong of a tone. It’s ok for the price.

The chime on my old doorbell broke so I wanted to replace it with an old fashioned, two-note doorbell, not an electronic one. This one works great. I wanted to keep my original wooden cover, so I did not use the white plastic cover it comes with. With just a Phillips screwdriver, I unscrewed the wires and removed the old chime from the wall. The screw holes on the new one did not line up with the old one, but that's ok for me since the doorbell cover I have is oversized and covered up the old screw holes. After screwing the new one to the wall and attaching the wires, I tested it out and it sounds great. I did not turn off the power as stated in the instructions. I used a multimeter to confirm there was no electricity going to the wires before I unscrewed them. That's expected since the doorbell button controls flow of electricity.

Works with Google nest doorbell in India. Just install a transformer to convert 220V AC to 18V AC. Then connect this doorbell to the transformer output with Google nest doorbell. Price is expensive since it needs to be imported from USA. But there is no other choice.

I bought this to use with the Unify Protect G4 Doorbell in the U.K. and it works as expected when following the wiring diagram in the doorbell’s setup instructions. I bought this as it was one of the few that I was able to import it into the U.K. to replace my doorbell chime box, as I preferred to wire this up as per Ubiquiti’s instructions rather than using a relay with my current 6VA U.K. chime box. Attached is a photo of it next to the doorbell transformer the Unify doorbell ships with (on the left in gray). I drilled a hole in the side of the two boxes to allow for the Ubiquiti adapter cables, you’ll also need a short run of cable to complete the circuit, only a few cm. Took about 10 minutes to mount and wire up.The time between the two chimes is a little slower than I expected which could be a power related issue but it’s less than a second, the bell can be clearly heard throughout the house which is its function. It has a satisfying “ding-dong” noise that’s to be expected from a mechanical chime.For anyone looking to fit a mechanical chime to their Unify Protect G4 Doorbell in Europe, using the included transformer and adapters included within the doorbell’s box, then this is what you’re looking for.

After a long 5 isolated months without a door chime, you can tell how anxious I was to get it fixed. Mercifully, the item was delivered to my door within 24 hours of ordering from Amazon. A 5-star service! Since I am not an electronic guy, I found the installation instructions in the box too simple to follow. Fortunately there was plenty of helpful videos online on this model and I got it working like a charm within 30 minutes. It came with a 2-year warranty and the manufacturer would add an extra year if you registered your purchase with them instantly. Great value! I am happy to give it 5 stars overall rating. I highly recommend it.

This doorbell arrived damaged as one of the tone bar supports was broken and I am reluctent to return it as it would cost almost its value. It should have been backaged for posting
