Irish Setter Ashby 6" Mens Aluminum Toe Work Boot

I wasn’t excepting too much out of the Irish setter line but it exceeded in all categories I was looking for. It fits great, water stays out, and the aluminum safety toe is lightweight so I don’t feel encumbered, after only a week it got broken into a lot better than other boots I’ve owned and of course it’s comfortable as are Redwings other products.

Took them out of the box yesterday, put them on my feet, and wore them for 10+ hours. Wore them again all day today, and spent at least half my day on a ladder. Yeah, my feet are a little sore, but no blisters or real problems to speak of, and I’m not even wearing proper boot socks. They look good, too. Got my first compliment at work today. A few thoughts: * The color is darker than I expected. Almost espresso. Nice, but the belt I bought to match... doesn’t. I’ll need to get a new one. * They run large. I wear a 13D in almost every other brand of boot or shoe, but in these, I’m a 12D. * The toe box has plenty of room. I’ve had to return other brands of safety toe boots due to fit problems in the toe, but these are just right. * You can (and should) experiment with lacing patterns to dial in the fit. Google “how to lace boots” for some suggestions if you’re not sure where to start. * The included laces aren’t great; do yourself a favor and spend the extra ten bucks on a nicer set. I went with 45” Honey Badgers and they’re perfect. * They don’t have much arch support. My next upgrade may be a set of insoles. Overall, I’m very impressed with these boots, and my minor complaints aren’t worth losing a star over. I’ve had my eye on a pair of Red Wing moc-toes for years, but I never got over the sticker shock. These are a great alternative for half the price.

Great quality and very comfortable. I would recommend these boots to anyone that is on their feet all day.

Originally ordered 12 regular. They were so tight at the toe cup I could feel it digging into my feet. Swapped for a 12 wide & it's so spacious it allows for enough movement to have already caused a pretty gnarly blister. The nibs on the ends of the laces are already tearing up after 1 week of use, also. Very disappointing for such an expensive boot to cheap out on laces. Such is the 21st century though. Just order a separate pair if you buy these. Despite all that, I do quite like them. For medium intensity days, they're super comfy & their light enough you barely notice they're even on. I would just have a hard time recommending them to someone through online purchasing. Seems like a brand you really should try on before you buy.

Love these books, comfortable and sturdy, not heavy clunkers

These are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. They kinda sucked at first because of the top band on the back rubbed the bottom of my calf for a few days till they broke in but that’s really with any pair of boots I’ve ever bought. I will most likely buy these again. I go through about a pair a year. Truck driver/diesel mechanic in the bulk cement world. So far the past few months they have held up great. I haven’t had them submerge in water yet but but walking in water a few inches deep they kept my feet dry. Also very true to size.

Fit great. Wear nice. I love them, mu 2nd pair.

Loved these boots. The comfort, the fact that it took about a day to break in. Loved how they felt and didn’t give me a sore ankle like my Timberland PROs. I loved the design and how sturdy they felt. I loved how they didn’t retain BO as quick as others. What I didn’t love and what ultimately convinced me to never buy from this brand again was the fact that a little under three months from regular wear and tear they suffered a catastrophic rip on the upper area of the boot where the stitching connects to the mudguard of the boot. For $200 dollars I expected so much more!!!

I've been in the construction industry for quite sometime and these are the lightest safety boots I've ever worn.

Item received within a week. Sizing is smaller then normal US size. I took half size down and fits nicely. Despite ordering the wider size, my feet still felt a slight squeezed at the toe box. Overall built quality is good and will put it to a test.

I work on concrete floors all day and walk a lot. These boots felt good on my feet as soon as I put them on and they have not disappointed. Comfortable and nice to walk in, they broke in easy and have no pressure points. I find them easy to put on and take off as well unlike most of my work boots. They also look great and the quality is excellent.

Estas Botas son una chulada, mi talla es 10.5 usa, que es 28.5 mexico pero leí que e debe pedir un medio número menos a la talla normal pues vienen un poco grandes, pedí la medida E2 o W que es ancho pues tengo un pie ancho y me quedo perfecto.
