Is it easy to program start and stop times? The one I have now is so complicated.

Yes. For weekdays first hit PRGM and enter the times and temperature, then hit Run to enter them. Repeat for weekend. There are no stop times, you are simply changing the temperature at these entered times.

Can it be used manually. Ie. Without programming

I always use it in manual because I don't like the way the program feature is set up. Just choose heat or cool, fan in auto, and set temp, all you have to do. If you want programmable I would recommend something else.

I could not find White Rogers thermostat with your model number. However I did find on designated as "1 F 78" (The spaces are intentional.) Be careful to search for models using the case (upper or lower) and spaces. Can it be set for one degree cycle rate, e.g., set temp at 70 so heat will go on at 69 then off at 71?

Don’t understand your question as mine is basically an on-off action. If in heat mode setting 69F, will cause heater to shut off when 69 reached. Heater back on if temp drops below 69F. There’s a little delay, like 1 degree such that heater waits before turning on or off too quickly. Call vendor for more info.

We live in an older house and when the panel for our heating stopped working in the bedroom I was worried we would have trouble replacing it. This unit worked perfectly and we had heat in no time. Was easy to install and worked right away. Display is clear and bright as well. Matches the other units in the house and displays accurate temperature.

Easy, simple, cheap, wonderful!!!

I just wana say how easy this thermostat is to install and program. I replaced a non programmable thermostat in my apartment with this one. I live in the Midwest and it’s get pretty cold.. so I bought this little guy so I can’t set it to turn on a few hours before I wake up to warm my apartment up.. and when I leave it will turn off.. so I don’t have to remember to lower the temp before I leave.. the unit came with 2 screws, the plastic wall anchor thing and 2 batteries and instructions.. I bough mine refurbished for $18 and there are no blemished or issues.. looks and works fine.. I had the same exact model and brand but the basic one.. so I took a pic of the wires and just used that to install the new one. Very straight forward and simple.. programming took me less than 5 minutes.. I mean how easy was that!!! You program the weekday and the weekend separately.. honestly I don’t see why anyone wouldn’t be happy with this product.. I don’t have any experience with wires or even hvac.. just kill the power to your furnace and you should be safe.. honestly I’m thinking the bad reviews are just people who are not so very smart..

Good product.

I have not actually used this model, but I have models 1E30 and 1F77-54. They are reliable, 14 years and counting. (The 1E30 needed to be re-calibrated initially). They do not occasionally over shoot on the up side like some competitor's products. I looked at the advertisement for the new model and they have added back light to the display. A useful up grade to the 1F78. In all if you are up grading your heating system, I would put this product on your wish list.
