Love Comes Softly (10th Anniversary Collection)

This is a wonderful full set collection of the entire Love Comes Softly Series! It's very well packaged in two - 5 Disc Flat Paks which only take up the storage space of 2 DVDs. All of the Discs have Captions for Hearing and Language and are visually crisp and clear with excellent audio. There are no shortcuts in this beautiful collection! I love these stories and had collected most of them one by one as they became available at much higher cost per than the price of this Set! I had given them to a young family and I was missing them so this 10th Anniversay edition is a perfect replacement for myself. The addition of the 2 Pre-quils is a nice bonus. The actor who plays the young Clark is excellent as is Dale Midkiff in the original episodes. IMHO Dale Midkiff carries the continuity of the series very well with gentleness, wisdom and strength. His character portrayal very well represents the tenderness and unconditional love of our Heavenly Father God! These movies are wonderful for all ages on many levels. They're heartwarming and educational for children in depicting without frightening, just how tough life was for pioneers. Both men and the women had to endure, survive and succeed every aspect of building, rebuilding and blending families and homes. Seeing the labor involved in just getting a drink of water - which most of us now take for granted comes from the faucet, (or is purchased in designer bottles) is a point of interest and learning - as in the monumental daily tasks of feeding, clothing and educating thier young with the constant threats of sickness and death from so many factors. It's good for children today to have a glimpse of what our predecessors went thru to expand this great Nation of ours. Our Secular Society doesn't want it taught in our American History how vital personal Faith in God was to the endurance and success of our people. That's what gave them the ability to succeed and that's what is needed even more desperately now than ever.... These stories gently display these historical elements and still make the connection that even though our culture and technologies have changed drastically on the human level we are still the same. We need each other -our family and our friends. And we still need the comfort, guidance and forgiveness of Almighty God as found in His unchaging Word - The Holy Bible. .This set would make a wonderful gift at a very affordable price.

My sister introduced me to these films years ago These are among my favorite movies because they are wholesome and hold my interest. I love the historical setting because I'm a Little House On the Prairie fan. They may be made-for-television, but it's hard to find movies of this caliber today. No bed scenes, bad language, unnecessary violence, etc. Some mild violence and themes, but to be expected because they are set in the 1800s. Good storylines, moral values, faith-based and thoroughly enjoyable. Sometimes cheesy, but makes me love them all the more. Minor cast changes, hair color differences and other details don't stop me from watching them again and again. This collection was well worth the money! Sort of a Christmas present to myself. So far, I've watched all but two of the movies in the case and all played without freezing. 100 satisfied! 💕

A complete collection of an outstanding series, including extras

I purchased this after hearing the original book read on the Christian Classic story segment on BBN radio station. I just loved the story and couldn't wait night after night for just one chapter. I went to the library and checked our the 1st title "Love comes softly". Loved it, when I found out that there was a movie made from the book series; I was happy to have found the entire video series on Amazon. This is a really great deal for 6 dvds. Although the dvds are a bit different from the books. They are still along the lines of a frontier story of love, and faith. One of the best family friendly series that I have viewed in a long time. Really worth the purchase price.

Each movie is very well done, engaging, easy to follow the story line, and well-written and acted. Some of the outdoor scenery is breathtaking. Well-balanced on triumphs and tragedies, a good depiction of the simpler life from not that long ago with all the same human conflicts of today's life. My wife watched many of these when they were first broadcast on Hallmark Channel, and I scoffed at the few scenes I watched when passing by the television set. Now that I've watched each movie in the set, I want more, they are that good. I found that I love to sit and watch these good, clean family-friendly movies which include having faith in God while not preaching about it, just presenting it as a part of life as it once was, and still is for many of us.

This is a set of all 10 of the Love Come Softly movies based on the books by Janette Oke. I have loved them since I watched them on Hallmark. These are wholesome family movies about love, tragedy and how God will see you through anything. The movies span generations of the Davis family. The movies are: Love Comes Softly, Love's Enduring Promise, Love's Long Journey, Love's Abiding Joy, Love's Unending Legacy, Love's Unfolding Dream, Love Takes Wing, Love Finds a Home, Love Begins and Love's Everlasting Courage.The movies were brand new and factory sealed. I bought them at a very reasonable price (I looked around and this was the best price I could find) and received them very quickly. I'm very pleased with them and look forward to sharing them with the rest of my family! Thanks!!

Over the next few days, I will be watching all 10 of these movies, and I will update this review after each one. LOVE COMES SOFTLY I just got done watching the first movie in this 10th Anniversary Collection, and it is everything that the other five star reviewers tell you that it is. This movie, based on Janette Oke's book, is excellent. It lets us see a relationship grow between a widow, a widower, and his daughter. We see mistakes they make along the way, but we also get to laugh with them, cry at injustice, and ask, "God, why do you let bad things happen to good people?" Misunderstandings happen, confusion reigns, but things do work out in the end. At the beginning, it is a marriage of convenience, with a daughter who does not want another mother. She must learn to grieve before she can go on with her life. Love does come softly, but we could also say that love comes slowly, but all three of our characters do grow to love each other with their whole hearts. I highly recommend this movie. I purchased the 10th anniversary Collection of Love Comes Softly series. I have watched all of the movies now and enjoyed them so much. It is quite interesting how all the same actors or characters are passed down to each movie and carrying on the legacy. I love Jannette Oke writing. So I am so glad I purchased it. This saga is good for the entire family. So please purchase this set. Love Comes Softly series is so good. The strength of all these actors are so good and the interesting lives they led to protect family, land and the good of all people is so good to see. So please buy this set and encourage all family to watch this.

I waited 2 years to finally get this collection! I love the first 8 movies, the prequels are excellent to, great messages for the family. The LOVE in all titles means that... The most important thing is LOVE! Highly recommended!

This video series has stories of people finding love after a tragedies. I love it because the people do not sleep around before marriage.
