After reading the reviews I decided to get a samsung 32gb microsd and got everything working perfectly. Some tips for people doing this the first time like me: - Use youtube for anything you're struggling with - Use a good microsd replacement so nothing is corrupted - Some emulators (SNEmulDS) require certain folders or programs to be in the ROOT of the card (the main part), this is non-negotiable. It can feel somewhat messy with the folders but worth it for all my fave games. Some info about the mods and roms available for DS (this is not about the seller): - DS games run great obviously, I've even gotten some DSI enhanced games working, only game i've had be a little too intensive is tony hawk's downhill jam, looked like it dropped frames then crashed. - Game Boy and Game Boy Color are emulated flawlessly. (small 1 to 1 pixels screen or zoom to fit, no stretch) - NES, Neo Geo, and Genesis run well but with scaling issues. - SNES has scaling issues but you can stretch to fit everything in, and a lot of the games won't run on DS hardware. - Game Boy Advance you're better off getting a flash card for the GBA slot, though I haven't tested GBA games on the R4, I've heard it's obviously better to just use authentic hardware so I will be purchasing that soon. - Didn't try any of the other emulators that came with this card because I'm not interested.

Came with a thousand games plus a emulator for game boy games. Haven't had any trouble with saved corrupting as others have mentioned but I have had a couple games crash randomly. So far none of the games I really care about of crash so I don't care too much. Great value for the card, You can also load your own games too.

This is an R4iLS device, which is at the lower-middle segment of the flashcard market. If you just want a flashcard, you'll be served well. It's compatible with FAT32 and sold with a 32GB microSDHC card. For your money, it's a bargain. It's not as good as an AK2i or a Supercard, but it is compatible with TwilightMenu++. I find it to be a little sluggish, and the background music often cuts out when navigating to your game.

**Edit: after wanting to continue using this thing but needing a different MicroSD - I did find that there is a kernel online that will work. Backing up the included MicroSD is still easier in my opinion, but if you're like me and needed to find one online, there is a version that will work. Look around for the repositories of kernels and presuming you get the exact model listed here on Amazon, it should be using an Ace3DS+ kernel. Search around for forum postings of people with this cart (Google search the URL on the cart in quotations) and you'll find the correct link. BACK UP THE INCLUDED MICROSD CARD KERNEL AND BUY A DIFFERENT MICROSD CARD. Point blank, you gotta do it. if you do, this is a great card. Back up the kernel from the included MicroSD, and put it on a new one. From my knowledge, downloading a new Wood R4 kernel off the web WILL NOT work. If you've got a different MicroSD or can buy one, format it. The included card is of immediately noticable poor quality. Bought this for my girlfriend and after a day there were corrupted saves left and right. Simple fix. 1. Format a good card to FAT32. 2. Remove the pre-loaded games from the included card. Essentially, you want to delete everything but the kernel files. (DSMENU, and the one or two native folders.) 3. Back those folders up on your desktop. 4. Copy them over to the good, formatted card. You should be able to insert it into the flash cart and it boots like any other normal Wood cart. Have had zero issues since then. Honestly a fantastic find with that caveat. Has served me very well since then.

I have previously used an r4 card when they were new but recently now that I’m older I wanted to get in touch with something from my childhood which was playing on a DS, this card will let you do things with your DS that are very fun. You can put movies and shows but obviously the main thing is the games. It does come with a handful of games on it already but if you would like to expand your library you simply go online and download DS roms and copy them onto the card using a memory card adapter for your computer. I’m not sure about the firmware that came with it because I put my own from my old r4 card but so far no problems it boots every time and plays games no problems exactly as if you had the game itself. There’s also a function for using cheats for your games. Also you can put emulators on here and play GBA, NES, SNES and other older consoles on here which is amazing you basically have access to every retro game and console you want on the go. If your like me and don’t play as much and don’t want to go out and buy every single game and keep them around in your drawer this is for you.

So I’m not sure why some people on here are complaining about bad games or not enough games. The add does not boast that great games are included, but they are. They’re a lot of games pre-loaded on this device that are very nice, but this is an extra thing, not what you are paying for. That said, this device only worked a while for me. It seems to stop reading the memory card inverted into it after a while, and becomes “Touchy”. The first one of these stopped working after only a few days, no longer reading, OR, even worse, reading for a while and then freezing up in the middle of a game. Eventually, well within 72 hours, it was no longer detected by my DS, and would not load. So I returned it, and got a replacement which started doing the same thing intermittently, but still reads at this point. A couple of user error dispelling here. I was very careful with inserting the memory card and inserting the Carthage. Also, my DS is not the issue. It played other carts just fine.

The quality of the games is really good. I was really hoping to get pokemon games and I got quite a bit which made me really happy. The cards look durable is easy to use as all you have to do is put it into the ds and boot it up and boom. No problems at all with the card for almost a year now that I’ve had it. I think my purchase was really worth it. I have loads of fun playing a lot of the games on it.

It arrived safe and sound, not much padding in the box but the card had a plastic case to protect it. The value for money is astronomically high, and if it does have a kill switch it’s for well after you’ve had your fun with it. You can’t have multiple saves of the same game, but otherwise no complaints.

Bought this for my DS lite to give it new life after sitting in storage for years. It's been fun to games that I've never tried and wish I had. This R4 card works great snd I have no complaints.

Has like every Pokémon for GBA and DS and even some event WiFi Pokémon app where you can mystery gift spoof old games, many good games Like lunar Dragon song, golden sun, and a ton of naruto games plus Mario partners in time, worth $35 hands down, and outer plastic is not as bad as mentioned by some but it is a little tricky to put in, but not enough to warrant 4/5 stars, definitely a clone but it works in my 3DS XL unlike my last R4 so I’m happy

With hundreds and hundreds of games at your disposal with cheats preloaded, its hard to argue why you shouldn't have this chip. I don't see why anyone should buy the physical games and keep a case around popping games in/out and potentially damaging cartridges and losing data/progress. Just buy one of these and you won't ever need to buy another game again or carry around dozens of cartridges. Works super well, is very reliable, and has all the most popular games.

For everyone that want a hit of nostalgia or are into retro games! 💪 it is as described, arrived on time and has heaps of pre-loaded games! The one thing I'd say is that I recommend getting a more well known micro SD card, eg. SanDisk or Samsung. Hope this help yall!

I was skeptical about this particular R4. Mainly because I've owned a few in the past, and they required a bit of technical fidgeting to work properly. THIS one though... I just popped it in and just worked! No hassle, and no fidgeting. Just pop-in and play. A great buy! HIGHLY recommended! 😁👍
