Framing Floors & Stairs: with Larry Haun

I have purchased basically everything Larry Haun ever wrote and stared in that had to do with carpentry. I learned a lot from his videos and even more from his books! The very efficient carpenter, by Larry Haun is a wonderful book full of information on building. This video will get you on target to the basics and to the intricate parts of building a house. If you buy all three videos and his book you will have a great background to build your own house. If you didn't know already, Larry Haun passed away this October 2011. When he died he was still out there at the age of 70 still showing the next generation how to frame houses! What a precious resource we lost in the skilled trades world. I'm sure you will gain a lot from this video and see how Larry can guide you through the trial and tribulations of framing a house.

It was very informative and it wasn’t painful to watch

As usual, Larry Haun awesome. You will learn a lot, even if you are not constructing anything, you will gain much knowledge, be more confident and discerning when you look at other people's construction work. Highly recommended.

great and simple framing. Larry is master carpenter, who works simply and EFFICIENTLY. No sophisticated math or tools. Larry has a very good way for laying out wall plates and raising them up. I found his methods, TIME SAVERS.

Larry Haun (RIP) was the best. I would recommend snatching up anythinghe has written or his DVD's, while still available. A framer's Bible. Will saveyou so much time on layout alone, will more than pay for the information onyour first job.

I grew up around a father with no carpentry skills whatsoever.Therefore, I reached adulthood, not knowing how to do many of the things I wanted to, regarding basic carpentry. This DVD is very professional, and he is a very good teacher. Clear, concise and simple.

Easy to follow, great for basic framing principles. Get all three videos and you will have a better knowledge of framing. Besides, learning from a man that has dedicated his life to economy framing is pretty cool. Larry rocks and so do the videos and his book.

a little dated but good info

Clear DVD to go with his book. Admittedly its framing a timber house in the US, but many techniques apply to the UK and conventional house building. Obviously if your a pro and done it all this will be of little value, but for the rest of us, good work. I have all three and all have equal good rating. Larry is easy to listen to, check out the Occidental Leathers tool belts, difficult to get in the UK, but items to die for.I bought a genuine Swanson Metric speed Square :-) Watch out for the Taiwan made Estwing cheapo hammers.
