Philips Grounded On/Off Switch with Braided Cord, 6 Ft Cable, Tabletop

I attached this Philips foot switch to my nightstand so I can easily turn my lamp on and off while lying in bed. I’m not using it as a foot switch, but it works great for my setup, speaking to its versatility. It’s compatible with and connected easily to my 110V wall outlet, easy to use, and has been working reliably so far. Very happy with this purchase, even happier with the price!

I have a rather expensive swivel arm desk lamp that I use on my night stand that was made to urn on and off with just touch on a particular surface. The on-off mechanism has failed but the lamp is other wise fully functional. This power cable is exactly what I needed to keep my lamp functional and out of the land fill. I debated between 4 and 5 stars, but when you are looking for something like this that you aren't likely to find locally, it works, and has continued to work for 2+ years, it deserves 5 stars. The one star hesitancy is because the on switch hesitates--its takes a second or two to turn on, likely due to circuitry inside. It's instant off, just not instant on. I would still buy it again, though. it was a good value that keeps a unique lamp functional.

This gets 5 stars because it really puts an on/off switch in a more convenient place. It's also getting 5 stars because it didn't burn my house down. I did NOT read the description closely enough. Absolutely my fault. I was looking for a switch I could use to turn my microwave off and on easily as I'm looking for ways to save electricity during these heat waves. I plugged it in and was delighted to watch it work...until I actually used the microwave. Yeah, no. Halfway through a 5 minute cooking cycle, the microwave quit working. The switch shorted out. However, while it was hot when I unplugged it, because it shorted, it didn't catch on fire. So it gets 5 stars for being smarter than me. Obviously, I can't return it since I'm the one that broke it, but I will buy another and use it on something kinder and gentler, LOL

This is a great little switch. We got it so we could turn a bedroom lamp on and off without getting out of bed and without needing a wireless remote that’ll inevitably run out of battery or get lost under the bed. One lamp, one button: perfect. The switch itself is more compact than I expected from the product photos, and I really like the size, just two inches across and about 3/4 inch thick. The button has a solid, satisfying click, and it won’t accidentally turn on or off if you just brush your finger over it. When I press the button, I can hear the electrical relay in the plug quietly switching on or off, which is nice a bit of durable old-school tech. The cord is a very nice braided fabric. The whole thing feels very well built. For me, with a regular old lamp plugged in, the button switches the light on and off instantly. I saw someone else comment that they notice a delay between the button press and the actual on/off change, but that’s not my experience. This works exactly as I wanted.

It is so convenient to have a way to turn off my floor lamp with this device. My fingers don’t work as well as they used to due to carpal tunnel, and this makes the task a snap. Love it!

Works well, but loses state after loss of power. I was running an aquarium pump through one of these when I decided to move the plug to a different socket on my power strip. That was when I noticed that these don’t go back to their previous state upon a brief break in power. This could’ve been disastrous for my aquarium if we had a short blip in power or brown out.

Likely a bit odd that I've purchased three of these over the last couple of years - our family uses a lot of tech, and sometimes having a remote on/off switch is really handy. For example, I have two completely different kinds of lighting on my desk, one a back-light for my large monitor, and by combining this switch with a multi-wall socket adapter that I plug into *this* product, I can turn both lights on and off via the button on this product, conveniently positioned on the side of my desk. In another similar use case, I use this to jointly turn on lighting for several wall-mounted art pieces. In other use case, I needed to turn on a bug zapper located up on top of our kitchen cabinets. Pros: * Well built, and looks sturdy enough to last. * Functions well ... quiet, but detectable "click" for on/off feels satisfying. * The wall wart sticks out to the side, but is cleverly designed to only use up one socket on a standard wall socket. * The 6' chord for the switch is long enough for a wide range of "remote" switching needs. * Reasonable price considering the quality of design and quality of all the components. Cons: * Minor nit: An on/off indicator LED in the on/off switch housing would have been the "Chef's Kiss" ;-) Bottom Line: Love this product - using in three applications and it's working great.

Omg you guys….I shouldn’t be so excited about something so simple but DUDE!!!!! I must sleep with a fan. No ifs ands or buts. Non negotiable. BUT my fan has a dial on the back of the stupid thing which is hard to get at, difficult for my arthritic hands to turn and sometimes I just don’t want to get out of bed if I’m too hot or too cold and need to power the thing on/off. Enter this amazing gadget! I looped the cord with the button around my headboard and now I literally just have to reach over and press it. I used to have the fan on a smart plug but honestly that plug was so buggy I spent more time swearing at Alexa than it was worth. (And I did so for years) This is SO much simpler! I am beyond thrilled and may get some for my daughters now as well!
