Works, cable could be longer
I installed this on my son's Razor scooter since they don't come with a meter, and this should help with battery anxiety on longer rides away from home. The cable was just barely long enough to make it down the handlebar into the battery/control box on his scooter which worked for me, but I can't see it ever being long enough for an adult scooter. When power is applied, the meter automatically turns on, does a LED visual self-test, then displays the power level. I have it wired so when the scooter is turned off then power is removed from this meter. The meter itself has an on/off pushbutton that I don't really have a need for, but others that don't have a separate switch for their battery might have a use for that. The LEDs are very bright. They are almost blinding if pointed directly at your face. If anything I wish they were half brightness, or that there was a way to adjust the brightness. Other than that, seems like a great little meter.

Good gauge for monitoring battery
Easy use and install, I run mine on a Marine Battery that i use for a back up power source to my Amateur Radio Station. I also have another portable 12V battery that I use for multiple applications. Its great to hit the button and know what my battery status is. Done by percentages and its a very small foot print. I even have a third one installed on a trailer harness wire that i specially made to power my radios on the back tailgate. Its inline with the cord and all i have to do is look for it, and press the on button and know when i need to stop and run the truck to charge up the battery. Great monitors for anything that has a 12v battery, going to add one to my riding lawn mower and another one to my truck.

Nice, small, but easy to read 12V battery monitor
Just installed on a new 12-volt deep cycle battery. Seems to work, at least initially. I like the auto-off feature, which I timed at 35 seconds. The display is very bright and should be visible in full sunlight. I mounted to my battery box using sticky-backed Velcro. You'll have to find your own mounting options, since no screws, double-sided tape, or Velcro is included. My biggest complaint is that the lead wires are very delicate. The wire was almost hair thin. I can easily imagine that wear and tear might break the internal conductors, especially where I connected to the battery terminals. I scraped the internal insulation several places when stripping the outside sheathing. That insulation was very thin, too.I am hopeful that this will gauge battery strength well enough to keep me from being stranded somewhere because the motor won't start! I'll probably test with a volt meter once the battery has been drained a bit.

Caught fire after 3 months.
Meter worked great for about 3 months. I had it installed on my camper to monitor the deep cycle battery. One day, it stopped working. I checked the wiring to find it had apparently caught fire and burned up. There was no load on the wires other than the meter. I really liked the unit, but a fire hazard it what it turned out to be.

Great addition for a small solar set up
I added this to a small solar battery setup in my workshop. My workshop is 100% Solar including some outlets and lights and I needed an easy battery meter to make sure I had plenty of juice and no 'leaks' in my setup. Love it, as the lights are easy to read at a quick glance and price was perfect.

Just now hooked it up, edited after over month
Only just now hooked it up. The battery is on charge. Gonna check it out tomorrow after a full charge and see if it reads full. So for right now 4 stars. Fingers crossed. Update; charged battery and reading a full charge. What I did was disconnect it and reconnect it after it was fully charged. It did a bunch of flashing and sequence stuff and stayed at full charge.EDIT: it has been over a month now and have got to know this meter.it doesnt work. Continues to say full charge, when I know it isn't.
