Does this work with the K5? If not what does?

This will not work with the K5. You will need the KJMICRODGB

What diameter is the drill bit? Thanks!

This is the Kreg Micro Drill Guide kit, and the large diameter for the stepped drill bit is 0.3 inches. The regular Kreg pocket hole bit is 3/8" diameter, 0.375 inches, quite a bit bigger than this one. Be advised that this kit is just what is shown, and you either need a compatible Kreg jig to hold the drill guide or some good clamps to hold it onto your stock for drilling. Good Luck!

Does this work with 520 pro?

This one will not work with the 520. It is for the 720. The Micro that will work with the 520 is the KPHA530.

which is easier to use by itself with just a clamp -- this one or the kpha530? I just need to drill a few holes in a small 1/2" plywood project.

To use the Micro, you will need to purchase the 520. You can not use it by itself.
