Connected old machine to Windows 11
Worked perfectly to connect an old BioTek Synergy HT plate reader to a windows 11 machine (just had to reassign the USB port to be Com1 to work with Gen5 software.) I'm very pleased with this product!

RS232 without headaches or plug in cards!
These are great. I use them to run my ham radio rigs via the PC. They handle the max baud rate of the radio rigs fine, work fine with Windows 11 and have a non-weird chip set - no driver worries! Dead simple to use - true plug and play. The only caveat is that all of my ham radio rigs all have male serial port plugs on them and this adapter has a male plug. This necessitates a straight through gender changer, so I keep some of those on hand, as I've never found these USB to Serial Port adapters with the female plug. Otherwise, these are perfect!!!

IT JUST WORKED !
Keep this short and sweet. My existing USB-A to RS-232 (db9) cable would not work or be recognized under Windows 11. The drivers for the chipsets used in the cable were not updated by the vendor for whatever reason. Maybe to sell new cables, who knows. Time for an upgrade. Purchased this cable and it was plug and play, no problems. I use the cable for programming radio scanners that listen to public safety. This cable was for an older radio that uses a little older programming interface. No problems experienced to date. Have used the cable a couple of times.

Works excellent.
Bought a couple of these cables for my boss to use at work on his old Windows XP system. We use them to communicate with a few of our vinyl plotters (Gerber) and they work flawlessly. There was 1 small problem with the driver though, they require that you download it. However, the ones they have are not compatible with XP, so I had to find an older version of the driver. It did take a little bit of time to track one down. Drivers for Windows 7, 8,10 etc. are easily obtainable. These work as good as the cards you would need to buy for the newer systems, as they don't come with RS232 Serial Ports these days. so these cables are probably the better investment. Definitely less expensive.

OK - 4 stars
I wanted to give this thing 3 stars, but that would not be fair. Mostly that has to do with my frustration from the physical format of thing - which is clear in the photo that I did not pay attention to. 1) It's short. 3 feet is not enough for most uses, be aware of that 2) Most frustrating. The DB9 end has female screw holes, not male screws. And they are not removable. Yes, just like in the photo. But this means I could not connect it to any serial port on any piece of gear I have. Why would you make it that way?? I had to buy a serial extension cable with male fasteners on each end just to use this. On the bright side, it needed no installation under Windows 10 and seems to work like a charm. There is a tiny driver CD_ROM what comes with it, I did not need it. Electrically this works very well, just don't overlook the physical limitations - like I did.

Fixed our client's issues! Great adapters!
For years our company has provided another brand which contained the Prolific chip set. However, about a year ago we started receiving several complaints from clients stating that their hardware was not working properly. After some research we found that there was a reported compatibility issues between the Prolific chip sets with Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. Several people had stated that switching to the FTDI chip sets had fixed their problem. We found the Tera Grand USB to serial adapters on Amazon which contain the FTDI chip sets and decided to order some for in house testing. We hooked up the adapters to several different pieces of hardware and had zero issues. We have since ordered about 50 adapters and have sent them to clients who were having issues with the Prolific chip sets. The Tera Grand adapters have fixed the issues our clients were having with their hardware. These are great adapters and I would highly recommend them, especially if you are experiencing issues with adapters that contain the Prolific chip sets.

Incluye drivers.

Not functional. Loaded latest driver fron net. When connecting to laptop, pc responds that usb device malfunctioned. In uiversal serial bus controller under Device properties, it shows unknown device. Tried alloptions under document. Wanted to have stable usb to serial convertor against Cadyce Ca-US9 and i paid thrice the cost for this Tera Grand considering FTDI chipset is more stable than Prolific chipset I am very much dissapointed with this product. I tried again and again three days and i tried other laptops also
