Freshpak Rooibos is not USDA organic, but its grown naturally in the Cederberg region. You would not need to worry about nasty pesticides and chemicals being used on the tea plants.

Why is it not marketed as organic in South Africa?

Organic would require the product to be sourced from all organic farms. This also requires certification for each farm. Currently the tea is sourced from many farms but grows naturally, with no pesticides required to produce crop, but due to the number of sources, it would be difficult to source from all organic certified farms. None the less, the product naturally grows and doesn’t require pesticides, as it a very resilient plant.

Does it have anything, like lemon, added or is it just Rooiboos tea?
