Opinel Le Petit Chef 3-Piece Children's Kitchen Knife Set

bought this for my daughter who was 8 at the time to help in the kitchen. initially she wasn't a fan of the finger hole and her hand is big enough to hold a knife the "standard" way however she's become accustomed to the gripe style and loves using this knife. the "sharpness" isn't enough to dice through vegetables efficiently but it is sharp enough to slice and cut fruits and veggies. the finger guards is a great addition to practice safety. Understanding this product is like a bike with training wheels, it's not here to make kids a knife pro in the kitchen but rather to practice good safe habits until they are ready to move up to the real thing. A little pricey for what it is but the confidence it gives my child in the kitchen makes it worth it. We've hand washed it and ran it through the dishwasher with no issues so it holds up well. I do wish there was a bit more weight to it for "chopping" through thicker items but overall a great knife for aspiring chefs in the kitchen.

We are really enjoying the set. The knife is plenty sharp enough and looks beautiful. It helps that the top of the knife is blunt enough for any child to place their palm and lean their body weight on to cut harder fruits and vegetables. The peeler came wrongly installed and my husband was able to re-insert it the proper way. A clear recommend.
