„Pretty Woman“ gehört zu den Filmen, die man einfach immer wieder anschauen kann. Julia Roberts in ihrer Paraderolle als charmante, lebensfrohe Vivian und Richard Gere als eleganter Geschäftsmann sind ein Duo, das den Film unvergesslich macht. Die Blu-ray bietet eine deutliche Verbesserung gegenüber den alten DVD-Ausgaben. Farben wirken klarer, Hauttöne natürlicher, und besonders die Straßenszenen bei Nacht sind detailreicher und stimmungsvoller. Auch wenn der Ton keine moderne Surround-Dynamik bietet, passt er sehr gut zum Genre – Dialoge sind verständlich, die Musik von Roy Orbison oder Roxette klingt sauber und nostalgisch. Inhaltlich überzeugt der Film mit Charme, Witz und einer klassischen „Aschenputtel“-Story, die nicht kitschig wirkt, sondern bis heute ihren Zauber entfaltet.
