Stick with Denso plugs for high performance engines
These were OEM plugs on my Sonata 2.0T. After 50,000 miles I replaced them with NGK iridium plugs. The insulators on the Denso's were visibly eroded and the residue color indicated the plugs were running a bit hot. After reading a number of posts on the Sonata Turbo forum, I selected NGK plugs that were 2 heat ranges cooler. Long story short, the NKG's were set at 0.020" gap. After trying them with that setting for about 200 miles, it was clearly obvious they had to be set between 0.028 and 0.032" as specified for the Sonata, which I did. Better, but not as good at the original Denso plugs. After 3000 miles the plugs were sooted up pretty well, obviously too cold a heat range. So, I bought new Denso's with the OEM heat range of 20. Runs like a new car.Caution: regapping iridium plugs is a bit like brain surgery - be careful to only touch the plug case and the lateral (side) electrode. The slightest contact with the insulator or the iridium center electrode will likely damage the plug. For you Optima/Sonata 2.0T owners, I am trying out a K-5 U Tune programmer. Current owners are impressed by the performance gain. Will keep you posted, as I am not easily impressed by so many advertised claims. Will give it a 0-100 run to see. Stock time should be about 14.8 seconds. If it runs in the low 14's, I'll bite. Buying Denso plugs on Amazon was a treat. Good price and fast delivery.

Great Plugs
These are the recommended plugs for our 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0, and they made the car run great! They solved a stumbling/hesitation problem we were having in lower gears, and excelleration is greatly improved. I was really surprised at how well the car ran after I installed them.

Just want I needed.
Bought the new colder oem plugs for Kia / Hyundai and my car ran terrible even with the correct gap. Went back to Denso factory plugs used in 2013 for the 2.0 runs like new again.
