Small in size, but large in sound! This is truly every bass players dream come true!!
I really love this little box! It is great at any volume! I primarily use it as a preamp for my Kustom 300HD tube bass amp. It really cleans up the bass frequencies with the EQ that is specifically geared toward bass. I have many different bass preamps and the Bass Buddy beats them all hands down! The price tag is a little high, but when you hear the difference in your overall clarity and tone, you will not be disappointed, as with all Phil Jones bass products their are to many extras to mention! A++!!!!

I needed a way to practice my bass quietly along to music on my iPod. This is THE device for this. I plug my instrument's wireless into the Bass Buddy. I plug my wireless headphones into the BB. Then finally I plug my iPod into the BB. I can adjust my volume as well as the iPod from the Bass Buddy. The quality of sound is as stated. If you hear noise it's from your instrument. I played it through several of my basses and could clearly hear which guitars needed their electronics cleaned. My Fender American Jazz Deluxe with the N3 pickups and not a single unwanted sound. The unit is a solid build. Rugged but stylish (dare I say even hip looking). The compressor is a nice feature. Especially with my setup. When playing along to the iPod it keeps my high and low volume tighter together so it sounds better with the music I'm playing along to. It's a 3:1 fixed ratio. The EQ ranges from 50 Hz to 12Khz. As mentioned I have several basses some active, some passive. The PJB Buddy has an Active/Passive switch. In short this little bruiser has a little bit of everything that you need and seems custom fit for what I need. It does the job perfectly.
