Works very well for clamping on tripod and supporting v mount battery

This served the purpose of mounting their new mini V mount batteries to my tripod so I can power my A7Siii over usb-c but the main problem is its clamp connection. Don’t get my wrong, it looks great and feels like great quality but it’s not as rock solid as I’d expect from SmallRig products, considering there are cheaper alternatives out there. The clamp attaches to the v mount plate with a couple of hex screws and under than there’s a hex screw to tighten the whole thing up. Annoyingly after very light use, this always loosens up and the whole thing wiggles about so you have to undo these screws again and re-tighten it which is a real pain.

Solid battery lock, good quality clamp. Lightweight. Perfect for what I’m using it for.

The clip works well, Its sturdy and well made, the design should be good.The problem lies in the lock and release button on the side of the plate which locks your V lock battery to the plate, It doesn't lock.The button moves in and out but doesn't lock, so if you have attached the plate to your tripod and move around the studio the battery tends to fall off, dragging the D tap with it.Basically as long as you don't move its ok... Not practical and i'll be looking for an alternative.

I've not over used this, I bought two, but today when I put a battery on one the bolt attaching the plate to the clamp sheered away and the battery fell to the floor. Fortunately the battery is ok, but for the price I'd have expected better quality.

This product is a combination of a solid mini clamp and a v mount bracket plate. It makes live easier and safer when you need longlife power for your light or camera or monitor with this tool mounted on your tripod or whatever it takes. Presuming you use v mount batteries with own power out plugs because this v mount plate doesn’t provide a power connector (if you need that look around for that other option).
