I have an asus n550jv. my original adapter is 19v, 6.32a 120w, will this cord plug into my adapter without overheating or causing damage to my system.

The cord will fit as long the connections are the same. The wires inside the cord can handle up to 10a without overheating. This cord won't cause damage, it's when people replace the "adaptor" that this cord plugs into with one that is the incorrect size. The adaptor BTW is actually a transformer so if you got the original you'll be fine

hi - anybody know for this item: will it likely work on an old (2006) gateway monitor? prongs look the same...
