THINKWARE F70 Full HD 1080P Dash Cam with Wide Dynamic Range

I was looking for a small, simple budget dash cam with high quality HD video recordings and this fits the bill. This is for my summer car, that I park indoors and only drive around 5000 kms per year. I wanted a camera that was very discreet and didn't want to fuss with it all the time, so the Thinkware F70 was perfect! Simple operation and is boots up within a few seconds when starting car. The included SD card is good for about 60 minutes of recording. I am considering purchasing the optional GPS antenna as well, but I'll wait to find it at a deal as well.

Bought this year ago as an entry level device to see how I would like a dashcam. It's a set-it-and-forget-it device. I have mine setup to record only when the vehicle is on and chose not to wire it in to direct power. The setup is simple. Download the app from their website, buy you a 64gb or 128 gb micro SD card and follow the instructions from their website to configure that card. I didn't use the included card because it would only record like 30-45 mins before looping and overwriting the oldest videos. My setup is. 64gb sdcard with interior volume turned off, gps module and a removable windshield mount with the silicone suction cup. I didn't want to use the included mount with the 3m adhesive mount because sometimes I move it to another vehicle. But keep in mind this is a basic dash cam that does the job. It's not connected to a cloud service, doesn't use WiFi. If you want to watch previous videos, you need to take the card out of the dashcam and put it on your mobile device or PC. The software on a PC will let you view the videos and if the gps module is plugged in, will show your tracking on a map. The quality is not 4k but video is good enough to catch license plates. Night vision is pretty decent. Some fast moving images might be blurred if you are viewing and trying to hit the pause button. I like this dash cam that I finally bought another for my wife's car. It holds up to the summer heat down here in the South.

Very pleased with this dashcam, for its simplicity and how well it works. If it's plugged in, it's recording, no other fiddling required. The video looks great, and records well at night. Mount was easy, came with little clips to hide the cable, which I ran along the edge of the window and then behind the trim. This is my 4th dashcam. The first one that I had purchased long ago was great, it lasted 8 years and finally died. Sadly, the company is out of business and I couldn't find a comparable replacement. The second and third dashcams I bought were terrible, one died within a year, and didn't work at night, and the other didn't save data, and the menus were in Chinese, all despite thousands (srsly, thousands?) of rave reviews here on this site. This camera from thinkware though, is just like that first workhorse in design. If you're looking for something simple and reliable in a dashcam, you cannot do better than this camera.

It just works. No annoying bulky lcd screens, no flaky wifi connections. Pull the SD card out and take it to your pc and run the configuration setup file on the SDCard to adjust the settings. I just muted the startup sounds and now I can just forget it’s there. If you’re hard-wiring it, you can’t have continuous recording while in park only incident recording (which makes sense anyway) I’ve had 3 different cameras including one that claims to be 4K The video quality that produces exactly the same as this 1080p one. Best bang for the buck. If you need quality GoPro seems to be the only option but that’s not hands off.
