What an awesome effect!
I've been dreaming about a pedal like this one for 15 years. I saw the Ravish Sitar online a few months ago, got it, and boy, I could not be happier.First things first. This is not just another stomp box. It is a full-blown effects processor - with its own memory, and user editable patches you can store and recall at any point. It is very flexible and you can create a ton of interesting - and usable - effects with it - not just the sitar it is primarily known for. There is a ton of inspirational videos on Youtube about it - watch them and see for yourself. The pedal has a learning curve - it's not something you play right out of the box, so be prepared for that. To fully understand what it can deliver, you need to invest quite some time with it.It is built very well, and the metal box looks reliable to me. A few things left to be desired: 1). I wish the two metal on/off switches were not as stiff. You have to really push hard to make them work. 2). The plastic pots look plain cheap to me - for that price I wish they were a little nicer. 3). The LCD "screen" is also in that department - cheap soft plastic. 3). Overall, I wish the navigation and the interface were a little better. The solution with a basic LCD, a white rotating pot and two metal on/off switches looks too cumbersome to me. This is not a simple effect. It needs to inspire you, not make you spend hours reading tutorials and fiddling with switches. I have a Strymon Timeline delay, which shares a similar concept, and those three issues do not exist there. The sound is very convincing, and the sonic options are limitless and very fun to explore. Currently I am using the Ravish with an EHX expression pedal - for the pitch effect, and I am planning on getting a second expression pedal to control the drone effect. The Ravish sounds great on clean channels, and is not quite usable on dirty ones. You may want to throw in some reverb and/or delay, but even by itself it sounds awesome. The pedal is very transparent and while disengaged it does not alter your tone at all.Overall, I am very happy with it, and I do recommend it to anyone willing to explore new territories in their playing. Have fun!

good witha big learning curve
I have to say as a sitar player this thing rocks, but I need to warn you thay you will be sleeping with the manual for a few nights.

I like it.
Works best with a Strat, single-coil pickips and a wammy-bar for bends. The effect seems to get lost with high-output humbucking pickups. I bet it would sound really good with a Jazzmaster.

Crazy cool pedal
Shimmering twangs of sympathetic virtual strings in a selection of tunings - it’s a lot easier than mastering Sitar. I can adjust just how wet the signal is and a host of other parameters - hours of fun! Can you plug it in and turn three chord rock ‘n roll into a raga? No. Works for drone chords or lead. OK, it is not really a sitar, but it evokes one pretty well.

Great Achievement!!!
The Ravish Sitar is exactly what it says it is and more. With presets a already set up out of box it allows you to start playing immediately. It is advisable to read the manual before hand though just to understand how things work especially if you are not familiar with real sitars. At first I was weary mostly because of the price and also if I would use it live other than just once or twice. Since using it I have found there are multiple possibilities with this pedal not just the basic sitar sound. I now plan on using it not only with recording but with live shows as well. The Ravish is a solid pedal with metal casing extremely durable for heavy use. Overall EHX made an amazing sounding pedal!!!

BYPASS Doesn't output dry guitar signal
I don't know if this unit defective, or the design is wonky, but after pressing the BYPASS pedal, no signal at all is output from Main Out. I was expecting that the sitar effect would be bypassed and unaffected guitar signal would be output.I'm inclined to return the unit. Either it is defective or the design doesn't meet my use case.I want to be able to stomp on the pedal to bring the effect in or out during a song. The way my unit is operating, I don't know how to do that.

I recommend Amazon as well! That's where I shop at! You can get just about anything here! And at a great price! No complaints!

Ravish Sitar elextro armonix

Nice addition
But you really need an expression pedal m-audio to bend notes, but it also has its own reverb, if you put the pedal in the other hole you can control its own unique Drone reverb.A nice edition to my pedal collection, possibly the only unique pedal on the market. Though I know a little bit about playing Raga and I have a Sitar, I did feel more relaxed in a metaphysical way after playing. Lots of YouTube tutorials! On playing Raga - it is like Jazz but with certain rules on how to move up and down the scale.Update nov 2014This does work well with a ukulele. But I use a good pick up - Schaller Passive Piezo Pickup, to get stereo u need 3.5mm Stereo Jack Socket to 2 x 6.35mm Mono Jack Plugs Adapter Cable, then connect it to a headphone amp or guitar amp.
