Works quite well, within reason.
I am pretty happy with the results of these on my MX Brown keyboards. There were actually enough rings in one package to do my whole Tenkeyless board, as well as most of another Tenkeyless board, but I'm buying another pack to finish that one off as well as put them on my Vortex POK3R 60% board. As others have said, this doesn't completely silence the keys, but it probably does cut down on the noise by about 30%, and adds a different, more pleasant (to me) tone that's less 'clack' and more 'thunk'. When I showed a co-worker (who sometimes complains about how loud my keyboard is) the difference on the keyboard I wasn't able to fully outfit, she agreed that it was quieter, and wasn't able to hear my typing nearly as much from across the room. It does change the feel of typing a little, as there is a little bit of dampening at the end of the keystroke, but I also don't mind that, and in a way it almost makes the keystroke feel more solid to me. I'm also not having issues getting used to any shorter activation, either in gaming or typing. In any case, I am pretty happy with these things and ordered a second set, as I mentioned before. I also like that they included a cleaning cloth, just because it's nice to have them.

A bit quieter, but biggest difference is in the feel
I have a CoolerMaster QuickFire XT (blue switches) and reckoned my keys were a little bit noisy considering my housemates were awoken when I started my homework in the morning. I decided to go with these O-rings as I quite like the chiclet keyboards on some laptops and feel like I can type very fast with them, so these "fat" rings (as opposed to the red "thin" rings) should do the trick. Installation was simple, albeit a bit tedious. I don't have a keycap puller so I fashioned one from a paper clip. (You should do the same instead of paying $6.99.) I initially only installed the O-rings on the 26 "letter" keys because I wasn't sure if I'd like them or not. Of course, as soon as I hit the space or wanted a capital letter the difference (in noise and feel) was massive, so I ended up putting the o-rings on all the "main" keys too (shift, enter, backspace, alt, etc.). I quite like the difference. It is noticeably quieter, although most definitely not silent. I would say the sound level is reduced 30%. But the biggest difference is the feel, as the travel is much shorter and the keys "bounce back" at the bottom of the stroke - as a result, my typing speed went up about 12 wpm. Overall, would recommend especially if you are wanting a change in the feel as well as the sound, but if your intention is only to reduce noise, these may not be the best solution. Still, a good thing to try before buying a new keyboard with different switches, however.

Read Before Buying! I bought the RED and BLUE versions to try and test them both.
Just like me, you're probably wondering what these are, what they do, and do they really work. And even if they do, how well do they work? I bought both the red and blues from this business to try and test them out. I have not tried the slightly more expensive WASD ones yet so I cannot compare it to that brand. First off, the reds are supposed to be thinner then the blues. When I received them I actually notice that they're also wider too, strangely. I don't think this is an issue, however, as it seems to be working fine. It's only noticeable during installation because the reds are a lot easier to slide into the keys than the blue ones are because they're wider. In terms of real world performance, I installed both the red and blues on multiple keyboards: Cherry MX Browns, Cherry MX Blues, and Cherry MX Reds. Then I tried gaming and multiple type tests online with them to see what feels best for gaming and typing. I've decided the color band matches best with the Cherry MX colors: blue with my MX Blue Keyboard and red with my MX Red keyboard. I don't have any on the MX Browns because I like them the way it is and it feels weird with any of the rings installed. The red rings doesn't help reduce noise in my opinion. It's only shortens the key presses by a very small margin that is barely noticeable from the start, but is slightly more noticeable after prolong usage. I don't like them on the MX Blues because it doesn't help reduce the clicking at all and the travel is negligible. I prefer them on the MX Reds because I feel the MX Red have a lot of wasted key travel that the red rings will help improve performance and response time. At the same time, the MX Reds aren't that loud so the red rings will be perfect for it. Now with the blues, they're much more noticeable and effective at reducing the noise. On my MX Blue keyboard, it reduced the noise, on average, over 10-15dB each key I measured. It makes the MX Blues sound so much more smooth and quiet. The reduction in key travel with the blue rings are very apparent and noticeable as well. It improved my typing time by 10wpm on average because it reduces the delay between button presses. It doesn't take a lot of force to activate a key on the MX Blue keyboard and when you're typing fast, you end up pressing each button pretty hard, pressing the button all the way down. The blues rings reduce the wasted time of the extra key travel after you press the button so you can move on to the next letter. All the while greatly reducing the noise. Another thing I realize is when I use the blue rings with the MX Red keyboard, I often miss when I play game or type. It seems the reds don't have a good activation feedback so I'm always unsure if I've actually pressed the button enough. Sometimes I feel like the blues are too thick for the reds as it needs to be pressed down more, I'm not sure. Overall I like blue rings more than the reds and would definitely get them again for all my MX blue keyboards.

Captain O-Ring should be sainted! The rings are great but the cloth! WOW!
These work exceptionally well at making a tiny but perceptible difference in how hard my keys hit bottom, and they make for a much less fatiguing typing experience. I'm one of those "type to the floor" people who bottoms out every key, hard enough that the thud drowns out the switch click. So I stack TWO of these puppies on every key. It DOES slightly raise the keycap on the stem, but not enough to make it wobbly. If I cared about aesthetics, I'd probably do my entire keyboard so every key sits at the same height, but I did just the alphas, space bar, shifts, and other keys I use often. Unfortunately, my backspace key still pings like a peanut in a broken tin can, but that's on the keyboard manufacturer, not Captain O-Ring. To make the process easier, slip the O-ring over the sleeve INSIDE the keycap, not over the stem on the switch. Then carefully push the keycap onto the switch, and the rest takes care of itself. NOW, onto the BIGGEST surprise of the night. I'm an old dude with readers required for EVERYTHING within three feet of my face. This kit came with a bright red screen cloth. I'm not the type to ever touch my screen, but I'm constantly touching my darn readers. SO I wiped down the lenses, and it was as if a faith healer had placed a holy hand on my brow. I CAN SEE! The O-rings, at that moment, became secondary in this transaction. I now own the holy hand towel. And so can you! At $12.99, it's a bargain, and even if the O-rings were a dud, I'd order another set. They aren't. Just sayin'. Five stars! Full recommendation. My fingers are happy and I can see! Hallelujah!

Work like a charm!
These pretty much completely dampen the sound of the downstroke on my keyboard as I am no longer bottoming out. I'm a pretty light typist though, so if you are forceful when you type, there might still be an audible sound on the downstroke. Note that these will not do anything to help with the sound of the upstroke. If that is bothering you, your switches (and possibly the way you type) are the culprit, not these orings. I recommend!

Keyboards hate this one trick to simmer down MX Blues!
I installed these on a Logitech G710 w/ MX blues and am liking it so far. It was enough to absorb some of the hollow "twang" of keys returning, but the clicky tone on key stoke is very much still present. I also replaced the stock .2mm rings on the spacebar and backspace of a tenured G710+ w/ MX browns, and found it removed enough of the play from looser/more worn keys that they didn't rattle on press anymore. Don't bother stacking .4 on .2 though - way too much, you'll just cause the keys to bind up on press. Ultimately I went with this brand because, unlike many O-rings listed on Amazon, these folks' store front is seemingly nothing BUT O-rings of all shapes and sizes, and I was willing to pay a slight premium for the combination of a few extra rings, a domestic brand, and this microfiber cloth I'll find... some use for (it's pretty good, but the logo printing is so scratchy it sorta defeats the purpose of ever needing a gentle microfiber cloth in the first place). Would buy again, probably will if it's still listed next time I need or recommend O-rings.

Very Nice and preferred over silicone
These are really nice and do the job well. You do have to give them a bit of a stretch before applying them to your keycaps. They are nice and cushiony making for a nicer key press. They are American made and I love that. I had only one issue. They are packaged in a small ziploc baggy with the free cloth and in order to get to them you have to either pull them out from around the cloth or try to pull the cloth out without all of the little rubber rings going flying. There has to be a packaging solution that can alleviate this issue. I hope they find it soon before I need to mod my next keyboard.

These are the correct O-rings for Dampener's
I have ordered a bunch of O-rings over the past few weeks to dampen my keycaps, looking for a good set that are the proper thickness and the correct hardness to dampen the sound. These are the ones you want don't buy the cheaper ones in higher quantities, they are too thin and soft to dampen anything.

makes a big difference, even on clicky blues
i was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews stating that getting o-rings for a keyboard with clicky mx blues was a waste of time, but I tried these anyway. They make a huge difference! My keyboard is by no means silent (or even quiet, really), but it's *far* quieter than it was. The reduced travel is noticeable, so maybe consider the 0.2mm versions if that's a concern.

A bit quieter due to softer than my first o-ring
I prefer this Captain O-ring over: Refaxi 120Pcs Rubber O-Ring Switch Dampeners Dark Red for Cherry MX Keyboard Dampers It is quieter and softer. Expecting 30%-40% noise reduction.
