The ignition in my jetta locked up with the car running and luckily i was able to swap it out with this, it was a bit of a pain to remove the old one but once that was done this fit right in, ive had it in my car for almost a year now and i havent had any issues Review: Saves you a ton of money over OEM or taking it to the dealer - Used this on a 2013 Jetta. The "ease of install" is relative to the experience of the installer. I've never done this kind of install before. Found some Youtube vids to show the job being done. It took a couple hours, most of which was removing the security bolts on the steering column. Otherwise not too difficult. This come with no electrical which is fine as you can just use the original wires from the old one and probably allows for the crazy low price. Overall build quality seems solid and basically the same as the OE I removed.

A four week fix.
The neighbor's Jetta needed the ignition lock swapped out, due to not being able to turn the lock cylinder. This product was a direct fit, was priced great for her budget (compared to the $1800 quote from the local mechanic), and performed flawlessly upon installation. Installation won't be difficult for a person with a standard set of tools and basic mechanical inclination. A quick online search found a few videos of others disassembling the steering column and replacing the lock mechanism. After a month, the product started giving the neighbor issues with turning the ignition from the off position to run. I took it back out, lubricated it with graphite powder, and reinstalled. Works fine again. I would buy another from this brand/seller if i have to change another ignition lock. Dry lube before install.

Eact match looks to be great quality
Just installed on a friends 2013 Jetta today. Works perfect. Was exactly like factory one. Everything hooked up perfect n works great. He don’t have to worry about if he is going to be able to turn car off and get key out now. Great quality

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This was installed by a mechanic and lasted in my car for 6 months. When it failed, I could not remove my keys from it. I had to stall my car (standard) and unhook the battery. Do not buy this.

Perfect fit
Replaced a jammed up ignition on a 2012 Jetta. This fit perfectly and worked as it should. How long will it last? Who knows, but given this is the 3rd replacement I’ve put in and the genuine VW part lasted less than 3 years at this price I don’t mind replacing it more often.

Right part, worked the first time!
Took a chance cause OEM is ridiculously priced. After installation, worked first time and still working today!

Easy install great price!!
This part saved me so much money!! Like the other reviews the bolts getting out ignition is prolly the hardest part! But the install was pretty simple… I bought bolts separately which cost $7 all in all took me like 45 minutes now have a brand new ignition with same keys!

Good so far!
Took about an hour to install. Pretty easy for the most part. Works as it should. I guess we will see in time. Price is right.
