German Shepherd Muzzle

My package arrived very quickly on Saturday, first day of estimated delivery. If you have a Pittbull this muzzle is perfect. It fits my Pitt's snout perfectly and what's even better is that he cannot take it off. It straps behind his ears as well as loops through his collar. Something I found amazing as my Pitt is Houdini at getting out of anything. Perfect solution for keeping my pet from destroying anything in the house when I need to leave him for a couple of hours while I hit the gym. A crate was not working as he would shred apart the bedding, rip apart the hard plastic tray and the crate itself bent all which ways something out of this world. That's on a day I left him for only 1 hour with the iDog Calming CD playing in the background to help him ease and calm down and left two toys for him to chew on in the crate while I was away. Yeah that was a joke. Got home to find he dug and chewed so deep right through the crate tray, the crate bars itself, through the carpet and the padding down to the wooden floor. All in only 1 hour! I am actually still in shock at how powerful he is when he's so obedient and calm when he's with me. I am purchasing a ProSelect Empire crate for him however that's a $400 - $500 investment so till then this inexpensive way of making sure he doesn't shred pillows or dog beds works great. I have a Nest Cam in the bedroom I leave him in (he sleeps with my daughter) and today after his first use of his muzzle with no crate he was submissive, calm and just lay there and slept till I was back from dropping the kids off at school. When I got home I took the muzzle off and gave ne a nice treat along with a long well deserved walk. He looks fierce in the muzzle as well. Very attractive muzzle for a Pitt. The muzzle is very well made of high quality leather especially for a Pitt. This muzzle is high quality and the best I've used. All the other my Pitt has found a way out of them or shred them after he gets them off. Not this one. Thanks for offering such a great muzzle for my American Staffordshire Terrier! It truly is the BEST!

Great muzzle. Dog is muzzle-trained already and has not fussed with it once, when sometimes she still fussed with the plastic ones after months. Bought to increase comfort over the standard plastic basket-muzzle. I needed to protect a new puppy from a 3.5 year old rescued dog who I've been training for 9 months; the dog used to attack other dogs from fear, even when there would be no threat, and the puppy is her reward for her obviously positive change in demeanor. The muzzle smells strongly of leather, so the puppy found the muzzle on a table & chewed the face-strap, but it has been holding up well since. This was a week ago. I can yank the chewed spots and it hasn't torn or acted like it would, but I anticipate problems at the damaged spots on the strap, over time, but the rest of the muzzle is of a quality worth repairing provided the repair costs less than a replacement. I was hoping it would keep her from biting the feathers out of the random chickens that run around my neighborhood, but now she has resorted to crushing them with her face and paws: you can see the durability of the leather's finish in the pictures. This is puppy and chicken damage. My puppy is 100% safe from bites and my dog is very comfortable with room to receive snacks, drink water, and pant. The fitment against the face and neck is superb. My dog is a 75lb standard/Large pitbull. A+

Fit perfect but she was able to get it off in less than 5 mins. Update: the customer service for this seller is beyond amazing. They issued a full refund no questions asked. I haven't had this good of customer service in probably ever.

Ok, so I've had this for close to 4 years now. It's a good muzzle, but the issue is the difficulty putting it on. And I'm not talking about the dog having issues, it's the actual putting it on. I cannot do it myself with a moving dog and my boyfriend finds it extremely frustrating. Because of it, my boyfriend has to come with me to all the vet visits because I don't want my baby being stuck in the thing for the trip (which scares me cause I don't like driving with my baby in the car to begin with. I'd love to find one that still works to keep any possible bites (he's never done it, but better safe than sorry) from happening but also is easier than trying to get this thing on. Otherwise, it does fit and that's hard on my dog with his unique shape and size. He's a huge GSM. German Shepherd Muttt, emphasis on Mutt! It's also very stiff, so you'll need to do some leatherwork to make it a bit more flexible.

Okay so I have two beautiful pitty babbies. One I have had since 8wks his name is Spartacus and is a 7 month old 75 pound monster. He is not fixed and is exceptionally hyper and loves to nip (playfully) and chew everything in sight. Rogue is his sister from the same litter she is about 55 to 60 pounds, she was not socialized nor cared for properly initially and doesn't really know how to deal with bikes ( a kid rode up on a bike and she growled at the bike) or cars or people who sneak up on her. To try and fix these issues I got these muzzles. They are wonderfully made and look absolutely stunning on them. I put them on and the fur babies were not enthused at all. I immediately took them on a walk with them and here is what happened. So rogue tried dragging her face across the concrete and grass to remove the monster on her face, she realized that it wasn't coming off. As we were walking a child on a bike went by and she did not growl or act up at all. Spartacus was calm and mellow where he is normally a psycho, obviously he has not chewed. I am very happy with these and would recommend them as a training aid or a precaution if you have pitty babies, for your fur baby as well as other people. You never know what may set them off. The people who saw them seemed more comfortable and relaxed being around my fur babies. The muzzles fit wonderfully the buckles really let you for them properly to their neck and forehead. Once on they will not come off no matter what antics, strategies they attempt lol.

This is the second time I have purchased this muzzle for my mastiff/ amstaf mix, and THE ONLY muzzle I trust for her. She has a short snout so I always had a hard time finding any muzzle that would fit right.... So hundreds of dollars later, I found this one. Thank you. I can feel confident and comfortable with this muzzle on her. I use it when I'm introducing her to other dogs, I use it until I AM comfortable taking off her. Anyway, the muzzle is comfortable on her, fits right and I've never had any problems using it. I definitely recommend. And the price is good.

Our GS was a well behaved guy at the vet till 3 years ago. Maybe a tech & fecal or blood sample but he’s been a handful ever since. For piece of mind and a thanks to the vet / staff I got this. He wasn’t happy about it but was Hannibal Lecture please with his face mask? It was a total success! Lots of practice putting it on him with lots of treats starting 6 months after his last vet appointment. Everyone was afraid and dogs sense it. He’s 120lbs. So he could do serious damage. He’s never bitten anyone and I wanted to keep it that way. As a responsibility and respect for these poor sweet young techs devoted to a life of helping animals I had to get this for our big boy. It works on so many levels. He couldn’t bite them, they felt calmer about approaching him and everyone thanked us for purchasing such a great product. Piece of mind is priceless! If you’re pup might bite someone please, get this muzzle. The plus side is … your dog will totally look like a bad ass wearing it.

EDIT July 29/2021 So I am now giving this muzzle a 2 star ⭐️ ⭐️ review because I had to throw it away. I hardly ever needed to use it except for trips to the vet and a few random walks since he couldn’t stand having it on him ever and he was able to get it right off. I tried and tried to use it. The final straw was at the vet last time and he removed it twice. It just never seemed to fit him correctly. It came immediately off. Then he pulled it apart one day when he saw it laying in the garage and chewed it up. I should have waited to write my first review but didn’t so now I’m on Amazon trying to get a new muzzle because we have a yearly checkup in a month. It has so many straps and no matter how tight I made it, he would get it off. Ugh. Here’s my review of this purchase a few days after receiving it. May 2020///We’ve only put it on him once so far, but I wanted to write my review of this muzzle just based on my first opinion of it then I will edit it a few months into my experience with it as well as how my big GSD is reacting to the muzzle after multiple uses. He doesn’t like muzzles at all, but he allowed me to put this one on him right when I got it today will be day two of our using it. It’s really good quality leather, I’m not used to using leather products for animals but this will be a learning process for both of us. It fits him just fine. True to size as I measured him with the help of my boyfriend, so definitely measure your dog before you purchase this. Honestly this is the quality on Amazon and the price was very very reasonable. I paid 20$ Well crafted and strong. I choose this basket muzzle because I didn’t like how the plastic ones felt and I knew my GSD wouldn’t like hard plastic either. Plus the muzzle I had previously used which he could get off within one minute never fit right and just didn’t work for my dog. It was the kind of muzzle that you fit just around his nose and clip with a plastic clip in the back of his head. Not sturdy or secure at all. I finally found a product that works and does the job it was made to do.I definitely recommend this purchase because if you have a dog that can literally get out of any muzzle you have to think about safety and this is the muzzle for you and your dog 💯 Yeah it’s not great and a strong 110 lb GSD has no issues whatsoever removing this muzzle so no after a year of trying it’s not good at all or safe for me to take him to the vet. He’s a good boy and loves people just not random dogs or the vet when the tech comes in with a helper he gets nervous and anxious as can be. I don’t know know why the vet can’t be the one to administer his shots or why the tech had to bring a helper into the tiny room while the other two stand there and one guy gives the shot? I could do it myself and have a happier GSD. Rant. 💯
