Great supplement

Love that the ingredients are so simple; organic extra virgin olive oil, vitamin a, vitamin d, and vitamin e. That's it! Unfortunately my baby hates the taste of it. Have to give him a milk chaser every time but I'd rather have that than sugary nonsense.

This product is pretty much exactly what I was expecting. It tastes exactly like olive oil - no surprise given the fact that olive oil is the main ingredient (yeah I actually tried a tiny bit). We've had other drops that are flavored a bit more toward the candy end of the spectrum, and I much prefer this more natural option. Flavor doesn't matter that much after all when you just mix it with the food they're eating. The minor quibble I have is that the measurements aren't as easy to read as other products we've had. Those were actually printed on the dropper in black while this one's are molded into the plastic (no contrast). It's fine once you figure it out, but it takes a bit to read the measurements when you're getting used to it. It's not going to change my mind overall. Oddly, it comes with the dropper in a separate sheath and a cap on the bottle. I'm sure they do this for a reason, but I'm used to the dropper coming on the bottle.

I received the bottle in a small, but firm, rectangular cardboard carton, weighing in at about (5) ounces and roughly measuring 2¾” x 4¾” x 1¾”. [A competitor had their carton shrink-wrapped, which I thought was even better.] Was the carton sealed? The carton was sealed by round tape, the size of a quarter (which I appreciate). However, the carton was only sealed with that tape at the top. The bottom of the carton was not sealed. So, I was able to access the bottle from the bottom. [I have seen cartons sealed both at the top and bottom when a baby product is involved, I like that better.) Inside the carton, item #1 The first item I pulled from the carton was an oral dropper (syringe), which was (3¾”) long and filled to a maximum of 1ML (which I could barely read, without liquid inside). The dropper was sealed (sterile I hope – as that feature was not noted and nothing noted the country of origin). Inside the carton, item #2 The second item I pulled from the carton was, of course, the glass bottle containing the liquid Vitamins A & D (but also containing E & K). The size of the bottle was (60) ml = two (2) fluid ounces, which measures out to (60) servings of the supplement per 1ML dose. The physical size of the bottle was just over (3¾”) tall and just over (1½”) in diameter. The bottle’s lid was sealed, but underneath the lid, this did not have a dropper spout, rather the opening to the glass bottle. What immediately struck me I was only able to read the label completely, with the aid of a magnifying glass, not because my eyesight is bad, but because the label has lettering that was in microprint. Consider adding a data sheet that I can read or incorporating the information into the 5” x 2½” thank you card note. Color The glass bottle is amber, the vitamin liquid is clear, but I think with a slightly yellow tinge. The Great Debate The science always seems to be in question surrounding the benefits of supplements. Now whether there are health benefits using this product will not be outlined or debated here, as the reader can make that conclusion independently. Notwithstanding, this writer wanted to take advantage of those benefits we understand are associated with our babies taking the recommended dosage, for their age, of Vitamins A & D (but also containing E & K). This combination is to Both lactoferrin and vitamin C are said to help increase and regulate how well iron is absorbed into the body from the intestine. Dosage at 1mL Each dropper (1 mL) contains 500 mcg of Vitamin A (as Retinyl Palmitate), 400 IU of Vitamin D3, and 5 IU of Vitamin E (as D-alpha Tocopherol). [There is also believed to be Vitamin K from the main ingredient, olive oil.] Aroma & Taste Whether real or imagined, there is slight orange/citrus aroma and discernable taste, we sniffed and tried first, before giving to our babies. Servings The daily recommended amount offers a two (2) month supply. Value This offers pricing that is on the premium side for price, when comparing to the big named competition, which offers similar pricing, but almost (2x) the quantity. Nevertheless, I am happy to have selected this to try. The Brand I never heard of the brand “Kiddivit;” they may have used a [contract] manufacturer for this supplement, I suspect, since this is “distributed by” them, a company based out of California. The package and bottle represent this was made in the USA, no reference if from USA products though. The drops The drops were as expected. A slippery olive oil like liquid texture (makes sense, the ingredient that makes this up is Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Listing versus what I received Everything seemed to match from what was listed to what I received, thank you. Warning & Caution I first sought the advice of a pediatrician, about this product, prior to use; and I do “not” administer more than the recommend amount. Ingredients Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Digestion We observed no negative consequences after administering. Aftertaste? I tried. Whether real or imagined, there was “no” aftertaste. Fresh product? The date of manufacture was not labeled, but I could read the expiration, 06/08/2024 (which was seven (7) months different from another product we received from this brand (Kiddivit). When was this made though? I received this during February 2023. WARNING REPEATED Always consult a healthcare professional prior to anyone taking a supplement. Brand I am not that familiar with this brand. Since the product is “distributed” by them, that implies they are not the manufacturer; and a contract manufacturer was likely the supplier. I am comfortable in trying this, having to rely on the representations in the listing and common sense. Otherwise, I would avoid buying anything but the big-name brands, which is no guarantee of anything, other than deeper pockets. [I looked at the brand our pediatrician’s pharmacy delivered, I never heard of their selected brand either, and it was “distributed” by them as well. Implying the use of a contract manufacturer. Based on the totality, I would give this a weak five (5) stars and I would likely select these again. The reason a weak five (5) star was because some information was missing, such as country of origin of ingredients. This is a boutique product, knowing this information sets this apart. Not knowing this does not justify a premium price. I hope my thoughts add information.
