Great wires for thread measurement. While I will always use threads mics over wires, sometimes I don't have mics available, or large enough. These are inexpensive and arguably more accurate than thread mics, they just take longer to set up, calculate mow (measurement over wire) and are hard to hold on to. Bought a set for home and work.

Lovin' this wire set. Spot on dimension, wire holders work well. Case is a little hard to open when new, but seems better with each use. Great set for the home workshop.

I'm just learning to cut single point threads on a metal lathe. These were helpful to assess the Pitch diameter and to help understand where my cut threads were binding on the nut. In hindsight, probably not necessary, but they were helpful in the learning curve. The .029" wires measured between .02880 and .02905 on my Mitutoyo micrometer. I bought this set mainly for the box that looked easier to find on the shelf. It is fine, but the lid is very tight, and I need to use a thin blade knife to shoe-horn the lids off and on. It looks like the tabs on the lids would break if you try to twist the lid off by hand. The included black rubber wire holders were a good addition. They hold 2 wires on the micrometer and were helpful to measure the threads while on the lathe. Overall pretty happy with this purchase.
