Pretty good. Some complainers probably didn't read instructions.
So far so good. People who complained about odor probably didn't read the instructions, which very clearly say to put it outside and turn it on high for a little while when you first get it to burn off a coating (presumably oil on the cast iron). I got this because NONE of the alleged plastic-free electric kettles really are, so I decided to go the old fashion way with a separate hot plate and kettle. I like that this has simple mechanical controls without electronics, computers, LEDs, touchpads, or other gimmicky razzle-dazzle, all of which always gives out pretty quick. Being a utilitarian sort I don't usually comment on appearance, but I have to admit, this looks elegant. I still haven't found a good kettle to put on it because, just like with the electric ones, even some of the plain glass kettles have plastic parts despite claiming the contrary, but that's not the fault of the hot plate. It works great. I'll find a decent glass kettle eventually and meanwhile this is mutipurpose. If it doesn't last, I'll revisit this and let you know. That's the thing that makes Amazon's reviews more credible than, for example, Ebay's, IMO, that you can revise them. Fri 7 Nov 2025

Great hotplate and seller
This is an awesome hot plate for sure. Heats up very fast and boils water pretty quickly, which I was pleasantly surprised by. I especially like the left knob being an on/off switch and the right the temp gauge. Would definitely recommend bc the price is very affordable and the product is well made.

Works Very Well, Stays Very Hot Quite a While After Turning Off
This hot plate works very well and as expected. The cord is also a good solid quality plug that inspires confidence for the long haul. The design of the on/off and temperature control is excellent. The heating surface is a great size and the hot-plate footing is solid even with a good size heavy pot. The only negative is just how long the burner stays VERY hot. To give you an idea, I boiled a 2 quart pan of water on it to make sure things were working. After that came to a boil, I turned off and unplugged the hot-plate, emptied the water into the sink, rinsed the pan in cold water to cool the pan off and filled it with cold water. I then placed the cooled pan half filled with cold water back on the hot-plate. The residual heat lasted long enough to heat the water to a point it was very uncomfortable to touch! I emptied the pan again, filled with cold water again, there was *still* enough heat to warm the half filled pot *again*. Nuts! :)

Works perfectly with my All American canner
The BroilKing I was using for canning (because I have a glass top stove) stopped working suddenly. Unfortunately the price for those went up to nearly $200. I needed an alternative and found this $40 gem. The burner size was the same as the BroilKing. Others had commented that it's works well with their canner, so I ordered it. Excellent decision! I've already used it for multiple canning batches. However, as others have mentioned, the outside of this thing gets HOT! Don't let small kids near it! I placed it on a metal oven tray for safety and to protect my countertop. But it plays very nicely with my cast-iron frying pan as well as my canner. Even though the burner is quite a bit smaller than the canner, it has no problem getting the canner up to and holding it at 10 lbs of pressure. I'm considering getting a backup, just in case this one stops working in the middle of a canning session. (At this price I could get 2 more and would still save money compared to a BroilKing! HA!)

Best hot plate ever. 10 stars.
10 stars. This is amazing. It has a solid ceramic cooking surface that is big enough for a large pot. The temperature control is accurate. It's a pleasure to cook with. It's a sturdy, stylish, hot plate that is better than some stovetops. Worth every penny.

Update: It didn't last!!
I purchased the Cusimax hot plate as a backup to a simpler hot plate that I was using at the time. Eventually, that hot plate failed and I turned to the Cusimax. It worked well for a few months, until now. Now, when I turn the power knob on the light comes on, and it heats up to MAX, while the temperature knob is still off. It makes a clicking noise that It didn't make before. I haven't even used it for six months and I have to replace it. When I first removed it from the package, I noticed that the word "ON" was partially missing. That made me skeptical about the quality. When I plugged it in, it was a very tight fit, and unplugging it was worse. I had to use force to pull it out of the socket. It worked though, so I overlooked those imperfections. I thought I had something sturdy that would last for years. I even thought that when I didn't need it anymore, I would give it to someone who could use it. Now I wonder if it is a product that wasn't made to last long at all. In other words, made cheaply. Update 2: I received a replacement burner right away, and was told to not even return the first one. They do heat up very impressively. Just like the first one, the quality is dismal. The power knob when turned off, to the left, just keeps going. That happened right away. Also, when a bit of food ends up on the unit, which is bound to happen, and is scraped off, even lightly with a fingernail, paint comes off with it. Furthermore, the characters on the temperature knob are so thin that even a young person has to lean over and get close to make them out. Because of my experiences with this brand, I will not even consider the brand for any other product.

Great at First, But Becomes a Safety Hazard
I've had this hot plate for four months, and at first, I really loved it. It heated up quickly, worked well, and was easy to clean. I did notice that the knobs would get really hot, but I didn’t think much of it since the whole thing is metal. Today, when I pulled it out to cook, I saw that all four feet on the bottom had completely melted. Then, while using it (because I still needed to), the plastic holding the metal temperature control knob melted entirely, and the knob fell off. On top of that, the hot plate struggled to maintain a consistent temperature—it would just shoot up to the max and stay there. I’m really disappointed because I enjoyed using it for the first few months, but it just gets way too hot. EDIT: I’m updating my review by one star to acknowledge that they reached out and offered to refund my purchase due to what happened. It’s clear they value customer feedback, and that means a lot to me.

This is a very good induction cooktop
The design looks clean and solid, which makes me feel comfortable and confident using it. I mainly use it for hot pot and Korean BBQ, and it works very well for both. The height is just right and very convenient for tabletop cooking. It has 7 temperature/power levels to adjust, and the stainless steel body is easy to clean. One thing to note is that because hot pot and grilling require continuous heating, the stainless steel surface becomes very hot after use. I always wait for it to cool down before wiping it, as it can be hot to the touch, so please be careful. That said, it is lifted by four feet underneath, so it doesn’t affect the tabletop. I use it on a glass dining table, and the table only gets slightly warm, which is totally fine. Only the cooktop body itself gets hot. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it.
