Washing machine stopped working, this (+ YouTube) got it working quickly
Our washing machine (LG WM3570HWA) stopped working (drum didn't spin - LE error code.) I did the typical thing these days and did a youtube search for what the problem could be. LG said the motor is locked so I just needed to reset the machine or whatever. It didn't work. The video I eventually found said I needed a new hall sensor and a new cable bundle and to definitely make *sure* I bought an original LG part. I ended up at one of the parts depots online. Then another, then another. In short, I could only find one place with both the sensor and cable(s) not on backorder/in stock. And it was going to be $90 to get them to me in 2 days. This hall sensor seemed to be the best reviewed one on Amazon, and it was significantly cheaper than the real LG one. Since I have Prime, I'd have it in 2 days for less than the non-shipped cost of the "real" LG part from one of the other places. So I risked it. I figured worst-case scenario I'd order the "real" one later with the cable bundle and only be out <$15 (and admittedly 2 more days without laundry.) The washer itself is 5.5 years old. Now, obviously I can't comment on the long term viability of this product/sensor. It's only been around 3 weeks. But I can say that the two youtube videos I watched on the install/replacement were quite simple, and ended up being entirely accurate. I actually spent more time cleaning up behind the washer/dryer (come on, is it really clean behind your W/D set? Really?) than I did fixing the washer. And it turns out that my cables are still working just fine - no inadvertant wear like they mentioned was a possibility in the first video. So yeah, this was inexpensive, delivered promptly, fits perfectly, and works (and is still working 3 weeks later.) It's so inexpensive (and easy to install) that if I get 2 years out of this, I'll consider it a win. If it lasts another 5 years like the stock part did, well, even better. Edit/update: (7 Feb, 2022) 7 months later it’s still running fine. Edit/update: (2 Jan, 2024) washer started throwing codes, so I figured it was time to get another one of these. BUT, it was another issue entirely (drain pump died, and based on Amazon reviews I forked out the money for a genuine part for that.) While I was here thinking about it, figured I’d update this. So even though I said I would have been fine getting 2 years out of it, I’m happy to report I’m at 2.5 years (assuming my math is correct) and this part is still happily chugging along. I should mention it’s doing all the laundry from a family of 5. Edit/update: (26 Jun, 2025) Nothing new to update other than the fact that it's still working fine. Just noticed I'm at the 4 year anniversary of this review so just posting this "no news is good news" update.

Fifteen Minutes, Zero Regrets
Fixed LE error on LG washing machine. Easy to replace, took 15 minutes and fixed the problem right out of the box. Way more convenient and affordable than calling a professional.

This is the part for LE error and drum that won’t rotate properly under power.
Fixed my 22 year old LG front load washer perfectly. I had the LE error and the drum would just barely move back and forth for a few minutes and then shut down. I had read online the rotor position sensor was the problem for this 95% of the time, and it is easy, cheap fix. This was correct in my case. The part is good quality, maybe better than original. Fit precisely and easily.

Fixed my washer
I was hopeful this would fix my washer and not be DOA. I got the dreaded LE error on my WM4270HVA front load washer of just after the extended warrant expired in Feb. The washer would not spin, it acted as though it couldn't figure out if it wanted to spin right or left and then I would get the LE error code display after like 2-3 minutes. It tried the reset, unplugging it and holding the start/stop button a few times but still the same. It also sounded like the motor was grinding in attempt to move the drum but nothing was happening. I went to YouTube and found a bunch of videos that pointed to this sensor being the issue. It looked simple enough to do but I admit, I was a little nervous. I like to tinker and try to fix things but I was nervous that I might break something and cost myself way more money or worse have to buy a new washing machine. I think the hardest part for me was getting the bolt off that covers the drum motor. I had an adjustable wrench that was just not adjusting. I finally gave it some good elbow grease and at last it was loosened - the rest was pretty easy after that, with the help of a screw driver stuck in between the metal to stop it from turning while I was trying to loosen the bolt. Once you get the bolt off, like others have said, you have to wiggle the magnetic washer motor rotor off but after that it's smooth sailing. I ordered this sensor as well as the drum motor (another vendor) because I didn't want to put it all back together and find out the issue was the drum motor. Thank goodness this sensor resolved my issue and I'm already on the 3rd load. Even though this part including the drum motor, and harness are covered for 10 years by LG, the labor isn't. That said, I didn't want to pay a technician $300 - 400 for something that took me about a 1 1/2 hours to compete the entire job. I have to say it was cool to test it out and see that it actually resolved my issue and this 56 year young woman fixed it herself. Note I also bought some Loctite, the blue (not the red) for the bolt that holds the rotor motor on, it says to use that because of all the agitation of the drum and so the bolt doesn't come loose. Be careful with it, it comes out of the tube kind of fast and a little runny. Finally, folks were correct that you need a 10mm and a 17mm socket. There are a ton of YouTube videos on it so you can't go wrong. Buy this part from this TOMOON and give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

An economical good working replacement part for a common failure
After reviewing a number of You Tube videos for this common failure, a search for a suitable replacement available, resulting in this purchase from Amazon. Item was as advertise a direct cost effective spare part. Washer is now back in service with no further problems. Very happy with the results. Recommended for LG front loading washer.
