You put the Greg figure in the bottom (remove the paper/cardboard front) -- he clips on. Press the green button and the top pops up. That is where you put the Gekko figure. When you press the green button, the bottom compartment turns so you can no longer see Greg and the top pops up so you can see Gekko (i.e. Greg transforms into Gekko). When you push down the top, Gekko is no longer visible and the bottom compartment opens to see Greg. You only see one figure at a time.
