Is this microfiber material scratchy on dry hands, or is it soft like nylon or cotton?

It is a bit scratchy on dry hands - not as much as the microfiber cleaning towels but definitely not as soft and smooth as my cotton towels.

How is this different from the Aquis Lisse turban?

The Aquis Lisse Aquis Turban is made from our proprietary woven fabric out of Korea while the Diva Dryer is made out of knitted terry microfiber out of China. 36 inches...plenty of length to wrap and twist.

does it dry black thick hair ?

It dries like a towel you still need to blow it dry or let it dry by itself. It just takes some of the moisture out
