Great first skate
This is a great first skate for a little girl. Got these for my daughters in size 13 and size 1 - the size 1 owner has moved on to roller blades and the size 13 owner is now using the size 1s. Debating holding on to the 13s for my son because the boy version costs more (even as an open box - so strange) I got these both as open box / used deals and it was well worth the price. They have held up fine and the girls say they are comfortable. This particular skate is very popular at our local rink.I have seen people say the wheels are slow but I saw a little girl yesterday in these zipping around the rink at an alarming speed. I think the wheels are just right for a beginner but will allow reasonable speed as your child's skill progresses. In my opinion - you don't want something super fast and speedy when they are just starting out.The only complaints I have with this skate are - the laces are cheap feeling and tend to snag on the velcro, but that is something you can fix if you want to (just buy better laces which a tighter weave). And I wish they came in a neutral color - maybe red and white or bright blue and white, so parents with boys and girls could pass them along easier. But that is not something that affects performance in any way so I will not take anything off the that. These skates have been perfect for my daughters.

Be sure to order a them a size bigger!
These are great skates, very cute, great ankle support and seem very well constructed. My only complaint is that they run alittle small. For instance, my daughter is a size 12 w/alittle extra room so I ordered these in a size 12 thinking she'd still have some extra room, like she does with her everyday shoes and with the skates used at our local skating rink but that wasn't the case. Her big toe was at the very tip of the skate, with no room to move. I highly recommend ordering one size larger not only because they take at least a week and a half to arrive but because the company doesn't offer exchanges. You have to return the skates and purchase new ones and they charge you $7 on top of that for return shipping, deducting it from your refund. I wish I would've known that beforehand. My daughter is so sad, not only did she have to wait almost two weeks for her first pair, now she has to wait for the second pair to arrive and I'm out $7 bucks. I went ahead and ordered the new ones already and will be retuning the original ones tomorrow to cut down the wait time for my daughter but I think I'm just alittle annoyed by the wait time and that they charge $7 to return/exchange. It's not the $7 but the sneakiness. O well. Just wanted to share my story so that others can avoid the same situation : )

Good quality Skate at a reasonable price, but do order one size bigger than street shoe!
Definitely do order them one size bigger than their street shoe/sneaker. I got these for my daughter's 10th birthday as her old hand-me-down Barbie pair finally gave out. She just starting wearing a size 1 sneaker, I ordered these in a size 2 because of other reviewers comments that these ran small and they suggested to go one size bigger, thanks guys! :o) They fit perfect with just a little room, I almost wish I had gone up an additional size for growing room, but they may of been to big than. She has been roller skating inside the house in the carport out on our street with no problems, smooth rolling action. I like that they provide good ankle support and are light weight. My daughter loves the color! We got these in Oct so we have only had them one month so far so good. I checked under the padding for any problems as suggested by the last reviewer who had an issue with a nail sticking up Yikes! Ours was fine no nails just the usual stuff you would find in any shoe and would want padding to cover up. Overall for the quality of this skate and the price I am very happy! I hope this helps!

Perfect Skate for Beginner to Intermediate
My daughter started getting into skating two years ago. We had bought her a beginner skate that let us adjust the wheels and so on. She did okay on those, but never really seemed to like them enough to skate every day or week in them. However, now that she has out grown the first skates we looked into buying a second pair.I am happy to say after looking at hundreds of skates, she found a pair she enjoys wearing almost everyday. Since the day they arrived my daughter has put them on to skate around our house, inside and out as we have wood floors inside. She says they are comfortable and we didn't go up or down a shoe size either. They have been holding up nicely and nothing seems to be wearing out as of yet with all the use.Tip: I did have my daughter get use to the skates on our area rug before skating on the wood floors or sidewalk. I think this really helps young skaters learn to balance and get a better feel for the skates before setting out on smooth ground.

not for a speed demon
I bought these as a FIRST pair of skates for my 9 year old. She loves them and has worn them almost daily for 3 months. They have taken a beating. She rides indoors, on cement, on paver stone, in the street, in the grass, walks through sand boxes, and goes up and down stairs walking on the stoppers. The wheels and bumber are holding up well. The toes are deeply scuffed, but the seams are holding fast and there are no holes. One of the liners recently came out and had a hole worn through at the toe. When new, the bearings were slower than expected which was fine at first. Now, with more experience, she has started to complain about the bearings. Her other complaints are: it takes too much time to get in/out of the skates with the extra ankle support (to me, the added support is a plus), and other kids have 'cooler' looking skates. Thankfully, her recent complaints haven't kept her from enjoying the skates. I plan to buy new bearings eventually, but will not be buying skates without ankle support or replacing these early for 'cooler' looking ones. Perhaps when she outgrows them, I will get a more expensive 'cooler' pair which have all the features I want as well. All in all, I think these are a safe, sturdy, and attractive pair of skates for the price.

Lovely roller boots!
Brilliant roller boots, bought for my 7yr old daughter for Xmas, she loves them, really well made look great quality, I liked them because they don't have a high support to the anchles which sometimes can make the anchles sore & rub a lot which makes the legs ach after a while, where these don't so nice & comfortable to wear & use & found them really easy to start skating. Great Xmas present!

Just perfect!
I ordered these skates for my daughter's upcoming birthday and they are lovely. Good fit, they appear well made but she hasn't used them outside yet. She is very happy and so am I!

An amazing buy!
All my concerns abut the skates being flimsy and cheap looking were dashed away when i opened the box. My 8 year old loved them and they are definitely built to last! However I would recommend that you purchase a size larger as they do seem to come up small.

Fab skates
Bought these for my 6 year old daughter and she absolutely loves them. She says they are really comfortable and soft inside. she skates for hours in them without them rubbing or chaffing like the hire skates do. Delivery was really fast and such a great price for a great pair of skates.
