Oversensitive RH readings, but very efficient and relatively quiet. A great product for the price IMHO.
Virtually all the comments to be found for this item on Amazon.com were written by people who had received this unit for free or at a discount price in exchange for a review. I found this unsettling and was wary to purchase this item as a consequence. Furthermore, as a relatively new company Ivation has virtually zero internet presence, so I found little online to reassure me. I have read that Ivation is a forward-thinking company intent on using clever technological innovations to produce superior consumer products at affordable prices. I have also read that their customer service is A1, but again this is not based on a great deal of evidence. This being said, there are not a great deal of quality-rated dehumidifiers at affordable prices on Amazon, and reading between the lines I was inclined to trust in the positive impressions the many reviewers had of this product. I also found its full range of features to perfectly satisfy my needs. I therefore took a leap of faith!I paid full price for this item. The unit arrived on time but was upside down and the packaging was damaged (it had clearly been dropped), which did not inspire confidence. I contacted Amazon, and the seller offered a 20% refund for the damaged packaging. Since the 1-year warranty still applies, I accepted this solution. The product itself appeared unscathed, and when put to the test I can conclude it performs commendably well. It is surprisingly small for a 70-pint dehumidifier and not as heavy as the 3-in-1 portable air conditioner I was using previously. It also runs significantly quieter. The temperature (in degrees C or F) and relative humidity readouts on the digital display are clear and informative. It came with a short (3') hose which I am using to continuously drain into a centrally located floor drain in our 1,000 sq ft basement. My favourite feature on this unit is the ability to maintain one's desired humidity level. If I set my desired humidity to 45%, the machine will dehumidify until the relative humidity reaches 40%, and will not restart until it reaches 50%. This is a valuable improvement on some other top-rated dehumidifiers (e.g. Danby), on which the fan runs continuously regardless of humidity. Because a 70-pint dehumidifier is more efficient at lowering humidity than a 50-pint unit, for example, it spends less time operating than a lower-capacity unit and therefore produces greater energy savings over time. This unit is very effective at reducing and subsequently maintaining a healthy humidity level in my basement. Normally my basement sits at about 62%, but with this unit it is being steadily maintained at around 46%. The only caveat I would care to mention is this unit seems to estimate relative humidity levels at approximately 10% higher than the humidistat in my basement, which I tend to trust more. I therefore set it to 60%, and it keeps my humidistat reading between 45% and 50%.A great product for the price IMHO. Hopefully it will stand the test of time!...

Excellent customer service
Arrived quickly at our home and works very well. It does need to be emptied about every 3 hours since there is no drain for the hose to be used. The 2,300 square foot basement is much drier, starting at about 80% humidity and now around 50%. It is helping to reduce the mold and mildew issues in our lake front home. The unit is also well made and reasonably quietI AM NOT being paid or receiving any benefit for this review.UPDATE: The unit quit working this week after 3 years of constant use. Cost to repair is too high, so I just ordered another unitFEB. 2, 2021 UPDATEThe second, 17 month old unit had a horrible noise coming from it. Pieces of the plastic squirrel blower came out of the unit. I called customer service to see if it possibly was still in warranty. That is two units in 5 years, which ran almost continually.Customer service was exceptional. I spoke with a fine gentleman who knew about the problem and promised to send another new and improved product to my home at no charge. No argument, no hassle, just great service. The newest unit arrived this evening, a quick delivery too. They do care about their customers

Replacement working well at the moment. .
Received dehumidifier Feb 10/20. Worked well until this week. Then it got incredibly noisy. It sounds like the whole thing is about to fall apart. What do I need to do to return it for warranty? I phoned and a new one was sent and received in about 5 days. Different model but works well to this point. I’m a much happier customer. Thank you Ivation.

Gets the job done
I purchased this product for my 1500 sq ft home due to the high levels of humidity. It is easy to use and has held up to constant use thus far. Mines stays on 40% setting and turns on automatically/intermittently as needed.Pros: dual led display (temp and current humidity levels)has wheelsAverage weightReasonably quietNot a total eye sore in the living spaceAppears to be well builtCons: does kick out hot air but this is true of most dehumidifiers due to the fact that they heat air in order to remove humidity.Overall very effective and has helped decrease humidity in my home for the 6 months I've owned it. I will try to update after next summer.

Does a great job keeping the basement in my 100+ year old house dry
No noisier than other dehumidifiers I have had but I wouldn't want to try to sleep right beside it. We have it in the basement furnace room which has two sets of slatted doors which we leave slightly ajar and my daughter sleeps in a nearby bedroom and she has no noise issues. We have it set on auto and hooked up to a drain and it runs intermitantly with no problems.
