As a proud owner of a new car, I couldn't help but worry about these EXTREMELY LONG doors. I mean these doors are HUGE and open so wide, I really worried about hitting the car next to me in every parking lot and in my garage at home. Thankfully, I discovered the Car Door Edge Guards, and boy, have they been a game-changer! From the moment I received these nifty protectors, installation was a breeze. No complicated tools or frustrating instructions—just a simple U-shape design that effortlessly fit along the edges of my car doors. Kudos to the genius behind their user-friendly design! I've had these edge guards on my vehicle for over a month now, and they have proved their mettle. They not only safeguard against those pesky parking lot mishaps but also shield my car's vulnerable edges from any unforeseen surprises. Soft, pliable, cooperative, easy to cut to size. On a somewhat warm day (for pliability) and with patience and the following method, it fit/butted up perfectly, along a ridge/rim on the inside of the door. I trimmed to length & fitted the product along the entire edge, (I put red strip on the inside.) Started at the top, used my fingernail to lift a tiny section of the soft, inside edge; gently pulling off the removable red strip on the adhesive; an inch or two at a time. (Only the inside portion of the strip has adhesive.) Then I applied even, medium pressure on both sides and the turned, outside edge of the strip; in a pinch/press (no sliding/stretching) motion- again a few inches at a time. I was careful to neither stretch or scrunch the length of the strip at any time. The product is almost clear, but has an ever-so-faint violet tinge to it in some lighting; but it was not a deal breaker for me. It attached firmly and evenly; along the inward and outward curves of the door. It’s been on for a few weeks and car washes; It’s been really hot, and has stayed attached. Some moisture does seep in under the outside edge; and a neat, hairline of fine dirt accumulates along the outside edge. Since the dirt is about the same color as our beige car it’s not obvious. BTW I put a very similar product on our older car doors over 10 years ago. Although it also gets moisture underneath, and the same hairline of fine dirt accumulation, it has remained in position through numerous car washes, rainstorms, wet roads, severe cold and heat; AND has prevented damage to our other car. I can’t speak from experience; but I imagine that this edge strip is removable, if needed, since it remains in a somewhat pliable state.

Goes on fairly easily. Some reviewers thought the width might be too narrow, but seems just right to offer protect the door edges against chips. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because I’m concerned about its durability. Has adhesive on the inside part so maybe will last through washings, etc.

Okay, so this does not look at all how it looks in the pictures. It isn't that nice fresh looking transparent edge. There is a medium/dark gray adhesive strip inside the length of the product, plus the product isn't coiled nicely, so it doesn't sit straight on anything as it's so kinked. Inside edge looks like plumbers putty, and unevenly applied putty at that, and the outside sits in a wibbly line as the package is loosely coiled cheap product that takes on this form. It also breaks and squashes the adhesive and red plastic removal strip, so the whole job doesn't sit nicely, looks cheap, and the plastic line covering the adhesive meanders up and down, so in places gets trapped while removing. Returning this as it's blatant false advertising. Still looking.

Bought these for my car, Gr 86. Before they came, my wife convinced me to get a car she was comfortable in. My new car came with them.

I have VERY mixed feelings about these door guards. I wanted them to protect the door to my F150. I cut the needed length and placed it on the door. It went on very easy and worked great. The guard stayed on through out the slushy spring in Indiana. Also stayed on while washing my truck. I would occasionally find myself needing to push the guard back onto the door near the top if I had brushed it a few times closing the door. My issue is with this product is how it isn't working with my new truck. Same exact model as my old truck and I'm having trouble with the new guard staying on.Yes, I did cut the length for a new guard . It will seem to fit fine, It will occasionally just fall off. Very frustrating given that I have experienced the guard WHEN it works as advertised. I just wish it would work all the time.

I enjoyed it. It's easy to install, and it amarts the impact well. I don't know how long it'll last. But so far, I like everything.

As narrow as this is, I believe it would be very difficult to apply to any car door. I always used to have this kind of door guard on my car doors; they were *much* wider. Worked perfect for my intended purpose, however, which was to cover the edges of sheets of plexiglass. As anyone who has worked with plexiglass, or any plastic sheeting, knows…the edges can be terribly raw/sharp. I had one fall against my ankle, and it actually created a wound that got infected (took four months to heal). I use large plexiglass sheets as “shields” across my wood doors and other things my parrot deems chewable in his room…he’s not picky in that regard; that beak can be a weapon of mass destruction if I don’t keep an eye on him! This plastic edging was was perfect to apply all across each edge of the plexiglass sheets for my safety if they fall over or I bump against them. I do have to say, however, it was a bit of a challenge applying it. The plastic is very sturdy and durable, but because it is fairly stiff, it took my arthritic fingers/hands awhile to apply it. Also…if you intend to use it for this purpose, or maybe along the edges of a piece of glass, you *will* see the gray adhesive through the glass. So there will be a “line” along that edge.

Normal protectors have metal edges which scratch the car door this doesn’t have any such edge, hence paint remains protected I do wish the overall size of the product was a bit broader as it’s quite narrow and doesn’t stick very well ( it could also be becuause of the monsoons) but it has come off twice and I’ve had to reapply it the plastic however is of very good quality
