What gauge wire are the red/black leads? if you don't know don't answer.

I had to replace mine and was examining the old one. The red wire says "18AWG" Other specs: E168110 AWM 2651 VW-1 105°C 300V ET1

Red positive. Black ground. Same as all batteries.

Does this work for motorcycle batteries?

Yea it will work: fine on lead acid/ AGM/no maintenance type - but not for the newer lithium ion type ( say Ballistic for example which don't like tenders and want a balanced charge) I use this on 2007 Triumph 1050 Sprint and it works great. The recondition function really work - brought back two of my neighbors dead snowmobile batts that a normal charge would not charge. I have it mounted on bike and use the light function - it really work - green no issue , yellow yea it will start but lugging and not good for strait - red - don't try it - also low volts on a Triumph are very hard on starter and sprag gear. Hope this helps

Is the indicator always on or is there a button to check the charge state on demand? if the former, i am concerned it will help draw down the battery.

The comfort indicator has an extremely small draw on the battery at all times and does not have an on/off button.

Pratico, veloce, con lo stato di carica a vista su 3 led ( rosso giallo verde ). 6 o 8mm sono le varianti del foro degli occhielli, a titolo di esempio batterie moto di solito da 6 ed auto da 8. Come da foto e descrizione. Una volta installato sarà semplicissimo mettere in carica la vostra batteria. Sembra abbastanza resistente anche ad umidità o acqua ma non ho verificato la tenuta di persona

Very convenient.

Super handy to have in the car to allow quick plug-in for charging. Not sure about the LED indicatory accuracy though, but overall good device. Lives in my Jaguar XF boot connected to the car permanently.
