This is a great book about peak performance. Tim Grover has built his career working with some of the top athletes in the world and making them even greater. He divides athletes into three categories: 1. The Cooler 2.The Closer 3. The Cleaner COOLER A person that you give a job to, and you will get the desired result. You will not get anything above that or extraordinary. The desired result will be satisfactory, and in the borders of what you asked for. You are not going to get anything exceptional. CLOSER Closer is a level above cooler. Closers are people that you can give a task to do and they will deliver great results back . They will deliver it the majority of the time, as long as not too many variables are thrown at them. CLEANER This is a whole new level, a “ I do not think” person. They are so well prepared, they do not think and just do. They spend hours and hours of time (years actually) getting prepared, that no matter what is thrown at them they are going to deliver that end result at all times, over and over and over again. They will be exceptional at it. Their instincts are so dead-on, that no matter what variable, what problem is thrown at them, they can adjust on the fly and have the ability to get themselves in the “zone”. Tim Grover talks about a few of the athletes he has worked with, from the late Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. Reading this book made me also think of soccer super star, Cristiano Ronaldo and how he is a cleaner too. These lessons from sport can be applied in business too. This is one of the best quotes I got from the book: "A great leader knows the best way to get people to raise their performance is to put them where they can truly excel, not just where you want them to excel. Cleaners don't block others from reaching the top with them, if they're capable and ready." Overall a great read, especially if you are one of those people wanting to keep doing better and better.

Acquistato su consiglio di MarcoMontemagno, devo ringraziarlo. Bellissimo e motivante, ottimo per migliorare l'inglese (costava anche meno dell'italiano quando l'ho acquistato)

Relentless is one of those books that hits you with a different level of intensity compared to most performance or mindset books. Tim Grover doesn’t sugarcoat anything — his approach is direct, aggressive, and built around the idea that becoming truly great requires a level of commitment and mental toughness most people never tap into. It definitely made me think about how hard I’m willing to push myself and what “going all in” really looks like. What I liked most is how Grover breaks people into three categories — Coolers, Closers, and Cleaners — and explains the mindset behind each one. Whether or not you agree with every label, it does make you reflect on where your habits and standards put you. Some of the stories from his work with elite athletes really show the difference between talent and the relentless mindset he talks about. The book is motivating in a tough-love kind of way. It pushes you to stop making excuses, stop waiting for perfect conditions, and start owning your results — no matter what. If you want a softer, feel-good approach to self-improvement, this isn’t it. But if you want something that challenges you to rethink what hard work and focus really look like, this book delivers. One thing to note: The tone is very intense and sometimes feels repetitive in its message — “be relentless, no excuses, no breaks.” It works if you’re in the right mindset, but it can feel a bit extreme depending on what you’re looking for. Overall, Relentless is a powerful read that pushes you to aim higher, expect more from yourself, and drop the excuses that hold you back. It’s not for everyone, but if you appreciate a blunt, no-nonsense approach to performance, this book hits exactly where it should.

Na 2 hoofdstukken is het allemaal wel duidelijk. Uiteraard zijn de basketbal spelers waar hij over schrijft legendes maar na hoofdstuk 2 niks nieuws meer eruit kunnen halen helaas.
