Definitely not for anything heavy
The handle itself is plastic and seems to be relatively strong. If it fails, it would most likely happen in the mounting screws. They're about 5/8" and in order to hold anything above 20 lbs, would need to NOT protrude on the other side of whatever it's screwed into, and that wood needs to be a hardwood. If the wood is pine or another soft wood, I would be leery of using it to carry more than ten pounds even with full screw coverage. I'd highly recommend replacing the mounting screw hardware with an appropriate bolt, nut and washer if the wood isn't a hardwood.The "imitation leather appearance" doesn't really stand up to inspection in bright light, but since it's plastic, the imitation stitching can be shaved off with a hot-knife and a real leather wrap can be stitched on. (This is what I'll be doing.)The rest of the mounting hardware appears to be brass-plated nickle or steel (My guess would be nickle) since it reacts with a magnet and zinc doesn't. The handle and mounting gear can hold a lot more than the screws can, which is why the point of failure will likely be the screws.Overall, this is a decent core for a great handle, provided it's decorated right and its limitations are taken into account. Replace the screws with nuts and bolts (or include nuts, bolts and washers as an option) and it would be 5 stars.

Cute handle. Used as a decrotative piece. Handle is made of plastic, don't know how it will hold up over time. But it looks great and came with the hardware to mount it.
