Great fun!
Although I love the relaxation of hand knitting, I wanted a way to make items quickly for gifts or charity. This knitting machine is perfect for hats and slippers! You MUST use the right yarn, and that can take some trial and error. Even different colors in the same brand can cause dropped stitches if the yarn is just a bit too thick or rough. So far, I've had success with Joann Big Twist Value and HL I Love This Yarn solids. The variegated colors are definitely hit or miss. I don't use the yarn tensioner on the machine, I just use my fingers and barely any tension. The suction cups didn't work on my table, so I removed them and screwed the machine to a piece of wood that I clamp to the table. My son 3D printed a fitting for the handle so I can use a drill. So far, my row counter is hanging in there, but it's starting to stick. I'll replace it with an aftermarket counter eventually. I've tried making flat panels and it works great, but it's much slower, so I just make the tubes and stitch them together for slippers. There are tons of ideas on YouTube. If this machine wears out, I might replace it with the name brand, since it's so useful for me. But, for about $50, it's a great tool to make items quickly and it's lots of fun.

Only works with thin yarn
Will not work with thicker yarns and drops/ doubles stitches a lot, but easy fixes. Way faster than by hand or loom.

AS GOOD AS THE ADDI FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE
SENTRO MACHINE – this machine is similar to the high quality Addi machine, but at one quarter the cost. It is not quite the quality of the Addi, but it is close, so it is a good value for this type of machine. The 22-stitch Sentro makes a tube that is 2.5 to 3 inches in diameter. Twenty-five rows will make a very small baby hat—for slightly premature babies. It makes a very skinny tube scarf, which will work for a grade school child. It is the perfect size for adult fingerless gloves or a child’s leg warmers. I would not try the straight panels until you are proficient with picking up missed stitches. I recommend worsted weight yarn or two strands of fingering weight yarn. Sport weight yarn makes a knit that is so light as to be lacy, which is inadequate for cold baby heads. THE 22-stitch SENTRO HAS NO ROW COUNTER.The 44-stitch machine makes a tube that is 7” in diameter (sport weight yarn) or 8” in diameter (worsted weight yarn). It DOES have a row counter, which is helpful, since you need over 100 rows to make a hat. The instructions with the 22-stitch Sentro Loom are almost nonexistent; the instructions with the 44-stitch loom are quite good. Still, I recommend Youtube videos on the Addi machine, such as Heather Moore Makes or SkacelKnitting.Note that the yarn mast is small. The most popular way to get consistent yarn tension is to have the yarn in a loose pile on the floor, and the knitting loom up on a counter, to allow gravity to provide consistent tension. My background: I machine knit with a Brother 930 and Brother 270 with ribbers. I also have the portable plastic Brother 350. I am proficient in hand crochet, hand knitting, and machine knitting. The type of cast on done on the Sentro machine is what machine knitters would call “the weaving cast-on.”I wanted a machine that could allow me to do some portable machine knitting with my grandkids. This means a very simple machine. Simple machines are limited in what they can do. I tried a Singer toy knitting loom and it was terrible. I would give it zero stars. This Sentro machine DOES do what it is supposed to do, and is a good value, but the machine style is more limited than I anticipated. People can have good family experiences or personal creative experiences with it, within its limiting framework.

Poor quality or old machine
Not even a month old and the plastics are breaking so much so that it's unusable. Very disappointing as I was excited to use this machine. Handle kept jamming as well. I did not try to return it only because I had used the yarn that came with it and had made a mark on the machine where the white needle lands.

It will only work for a short time !
It works great when it worked but like others said it broke rather fast with nothing being done it it . Normal yarn 4th project, mid project, just stopped spinning 😔 ..

Sentro doesn’t disappoint!
This little knitting machine can crank out great pieces to make a garment. It’s a little wobbly when you’re learning to use it. But, after you use it 2 to 3 times, it can create an awesome garments for a gorgeousfashion line!

Keep this oiled
I am using the knitting machine for my small business. I like it but the knitting machine is easy to break. Make sure to keep it oiled. The screws was loose and the plastic started cracking. Make sure to get 2.
