POWERTEC 70283 4-Inch Dust Collection Bench Nozzle w/Quick Change Handle

I recently switched from shop-vac powered dust collection with 2-inch hoses to a real DC with 4-inch hose. Since I didn't have room to keep them both, I upgraded nozzle and floor wand to 4-inch versions - which are surprisingly hard to find. This works great. It feels a bit like dragging a firehose around compared to the old ones but it moves so much more air and picks up dust from places the 2" version could not touch. I use it both by the handle for the top of the workbench and floor-standing equipment, and attached to a wand for use on the floor. The bristles around the edge prevent it from sticking to surfaces and sealing the hose. I tried a different nozzle which lacks the bristles and it just kept sticking to any flat surface which blocks air flow. This one never has that problem. I'd love to see more options for 4" accessories (Crevice tool, anyone?) but until then this is highly recommended. (Why not just use a reducer? Tried that. A shop vac has high static pressure and low air volume whereas a dust collector has high air volume and low static pressure. With 4" hoses and accessories this beats the shop-vac hands-down. With a reducer and 2" accessories the new dust collector is not as powerful as the shop vac.)

I recently purchased a dust collector for my workshop, which has been a blessing after using a shop vac for years. However, cleaning up was still a hassle because I had to get the shop vac out to catch what the dust collector missed. I thought, since the dust collector can handle cleanup, why not find a 4" attachment to achieve the same result without dragging out the shop vac? This bench nozzle does exactly what I hoped for. Now, I rarely need to use my shop vac. The handle allows for easy maneuvering, and the bristles loosen any stubborn particles. I recommend this to anyone in a similar situation. Great product!

It's a little difficult to remove the 4" hose from the table saw and attach to this, but it does work well once you have it connected.

I love using this thing. I use it after my day is done, helps me get into smaller spaces and surfaces. I even use it vacuum dust off of me. The only draw back is the handle. Im constantly having to tighten the knobs down to keep the handle from slipping around. Maybe a rib on the attachment with a mating groove in the handle woukd help a bit.

Using it to clean up around cnc & table saw. Doesn't decrease the air flow so it cleans up fast.

Warning, does not include a 4" hose clamp although it's in the pictures. Also, "quick change" refers to the handle position. The plastic is reasonably heavy duty, should last a long time. Bristles are pretty stiff, which is good to keep it from sucking itself to the floor. Overall suction did not change noticeably. I thought $30 was kind of pricey, but it works and will outlast me, so there you go.
