Basic and Wonderful King James Version Old Testament
The Old Testament, King James Version, from Everyman's Library is a beatiful and no-frills KJV Old Testament. This is the King James Bible in all its raw splendor and power. I waited several years before buying it, I originally bought the New Testament, King James Version, from Everyman's library when it first came out, and have greatly enjoyed reading it ever since. However, I waited, several years, before I bought the Old Testament from Everyman's. Well, the wait was worth it, and I just received it back on June 5, 2013, and have not put it down since, and have read it in conjunction with the New Testament from Everyman's. The format and layout of the Old Testament, King James Version, breaths new life into an old, but wonderful classic. Pick it up, start reading it and allow the elegant words of the King James Bible to touch and uplift your soul. Its well worth buying and enjoying every time your pick it up to read it.

If you are Jewish . . .
THIS is what I have spent 2 years looking for! We are Jewish but my teen daughter loves the formal sound of the KJV. I like the KJV too because I enjoy referancing Strong's Hebrew concordance as I study. (We also have JPS & Artscroll Tanakhs.) Of course the KJV isn't perfect but it is among the better translations. It is great to finally find a copy without the added Christian writings. Now if I could only find a Strong's Concordance with just the Hebrew & no Greek section . . .

Holy crap
OMFG this book is so freakin' boring. Do you have any idea how long this thing is? I do 'cause I looked it up: it's freakin' 1448 pages long. That's like Chaucer long, dude. I was so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so bored. It starts off okay because there's like the Adam & Eve stuff and that's an okay story, yo how much would it suck if there was only like one chick in the whole world and she was kindof a bitch? That would suck, man! - and then there's the whole "Let my people go" bit which is cool because in my head that whole part is narrated by Cameron, Ferris Bueller's friend from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," but by the time you get to Leviticus stuff starts getting seriously honestly pretty weird. Did you know that you're not allowed to go anywhere near a woman on the rag because she's an abomination? And that's tough because I ride the subway, right? Who freakin' knows how many chicks might be abominating all over the place up in the subway? And from there things just get terrible. Numbers sucks just as bad as it sounds like it's going to, and don't even get me started on Deuteronomy. No seriously, don't; I quit halfway through Numbers. You know what's a good book is "The Ruins" by Scott Smith. It sounds dumb because it's about like killer plants but it turns out to be pretty cool. You should read that.

You should be an old testament biblical scholar to understand it
Very complete and if you have the time, gives far more historical information

Steiner's introduction alone is worth it
George Steiner's introduction alone is worth the price. Amazingly, this edition (OT) is also available on Kindle for cheap, so you can get the introduction there for a fraction of the cost.As a bible, I love the single-column typesetting. Not as much hyphenation as you find with the double-column standard bible layout. But overall, I agree with another reviewer of the NT that the Cambridge Bibles are a nicer overall (don't get me wrong, Everyman's library makes gorgeous, sturdy books, but with a book like the Bible you have no shortage of choice from beautiful volumes).
