Better than expected
Much better than expected. After all these negative reviews I was not sure about the quality and sound. But after hooking up all the inputs I was amazed and very happy with the sound and ease of use with the Bluetooth , tv, music etc.II DO NOT HEAR any loud fan noises as mentioned in other reviews, and I have no problem with the remote either. The music is crisp and clear my bass is awesome with Bose speakers and Subwoofer outputs.. I definitely love this system, absolutely recommended..AAA+++

Mixed results so far - and a revision
A late addition to my review. It is not a good product - the HDMI connections were static-filled and inconsistent from the beginning, and it began to really malfunction after the return window was over - for me, the return window ended on 9 November and today, 11 November, the components are not connecting at all. The cable box and DVD HDMI connections (HDMI 1 and 3) work, but the computer connection (HDMI 2) does not work - no sound at all. And I did change the HDMI cable, to no avail. The fan on this unit is incredibly loud - I have to turn it off completely when turning the TV and cable box off as the DBs for the fan are similar to a house fan turned up high.My household is technically adept, but I was the only one that could understand how to use it once set up. The user interface is clunky and counter-intuitive, and this became evident the longer we used itIf I could return it, I definitely would do so, but I didn't use the other HDMI input components for most of the time I have had it, and when I wanted to actually use it, it is not working at all, even after changing the cable. Definitely one star, or less...Previous reviewAfter having the receiver for almost a week before taking it out of the box, I was initially surprised by how skimpy the owner's manual and directions for hooking it up to her. The schematic was poorly drawn, but eventually, I figured it out and got it to work – sort of. Only one HDMI port works as advertised, but the rest had issues – no sound, distorted sound, or static. In fact, there is some weird, almost demonic static that's constant in any mood, and I have to figure out if there's some type of external interference going on. But the interesting thing is that I'm kind of excited by it because of how convenient the HDMI connections are, and if I ever figure out how to use the remote easily, it actually could be a good unit. Stay tuned…

Great, affordable addition to my home sound system.
This stereo receiver works great for my home sound system. Connecting my speakers, TV, and record player were a piece of cake, although the directions could be a little more thorough. It even has bluetooth capability, which is awesome. The sound is clear and crisp and bright. All the functions are easy to figure out. It's a good price, and I appreciate how I could choose a payment plan. It is on the larger side, but Very pleased.

No operating instructions
The manual provided with the unit is all but useless. No hook-up advice and no operating instructions.I spent half a day wiring and rewiring the speakers and still couldn't get them all to work with my iPod. Called the service number and got a never ending merry-go-round of messages, it did quickly state a web address. I went to the site I thought I heard and got an independent stereo store 2500 miles away. They were very helpful. I tried one of my retired CDs and it powered the surround mode just fine. Half a day wasted. I'm still stumbling into how to work it. (The Surround Sound folks say I should use the 2.1 Channel for iPod.) Took days to figure out how to activate Blue Tooth - that works fine once you know where it is and how to use it. I really didn't need the Microphone functions, don't plan on becoming a Karaoke star any time soon. But the Unit was fairly priced for one without this functionality.I would buy this unit again, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is inexperienced setting up electronics. Finally, and this is particularly important to classical music listeners, the unit has a very loud cooling fan that will overwhelm the more quiet notes.

Very loud fans! Difficult setup.
Trying to replace a dead Pyle PDA7BU with better speaker connects (prefer banana) and add 3 channels. Shopped really in depth within my budget. Some reviews had this as loud....they are RIGHT!! The fans are just really annoying if you're within 20 feet. I'm connecting to my PC for my office sound system and am about 4 feet away. Also, trying to connect the PC digital to the PYLE is very tricky and cumbersome. Am about ready to return this and re-shop!Not sure if this is the correct way to add to my review, but here goes. I was excited about getting the PT796BT. It was to replace a PYLE PDA7BU that I'd had for years and it finally just died. My great experience made me want another PYLE but one that fit my newer system and needs. Unfortunately, the fan noise on the new 796 was just too loud for my small office. The shelf for it is about 3 feet directly above my head where my PC desk is. Add that to the problem I had getting the AUX IN or mthe Digital Coax In on the 796 to work properly...and it had to go back! However, I still like the PYLE products and am considering a Pyle PT888BTWM, or perhaps a Pyle PT696BT. I'm going to couple that with a PYLE PSPVC6 (or similar) and I am 99% certain that will suit my needs for a long time. Assuming I don't have any similar issues!! I hope to acquire these in the next 2-3 weeks.

Great quality for the price - Big bang for buck
I bought this to replace an ancient Pioneer VSX. For the price, the quality can't be beat. I'm very happy with the purchase. Easy set up and great sound quality. Easily hooked up to my TV and other devices.
