What I was hoping for
I wanted some more sweet sound from the 5.0 but I didn't wanna do any non-reversible or expensive mods. I peeped this kit out and one of the reviewers said that it sounded good and loud enough that they no longer wanted an exhaust.I had to see for myself, so after installing it and driving around I can say the same thing. It sounds great in all the right ways. It's got a great tone when you get on it and shuts right up when you let off. At slight throttle it's like stock. Give it a little more though and you get nice sounds without having to tach it up too high. I love the characteristics. That being said, YMMV but really it's made for a specific range of trucks with one engine, so perhaps not really. Either way, I'm extremely happy and I'm pretty sure you'd be too if you're looking for the same thing. It's a lot less than exhaust work and I'm glad I went this route first.

GREAT !but don't expect great things......
Ok, here's the scoop pull up a chair.........Install ~ Easy just take your time don't over tighten or strip screws easy peasy 25 minsMPG ~ I am sure it may have a positive effect as my MPG went from 17.8 to 18.2, HOWEVER... with the amazing throaty sound you get stomping on the pedal gas mileage will fall fast! Go easy it will save.Sound ~ WOW!!!!!! My 2013 F150 with the Coyote 5.0 really sounds awesome, get on the highway at 40-50mph and stomp it down and everyone in a 30 foot radius will look over and go WTF was that? LOVE IT!!!!HP ~ Haven't noticed anything but a little faster acceleration, nothing you will notice without a dyno tune!Price ~ Pricey, at almost $300 bucks I got the chrome pipe for looks, and for a pipe some gaskets and an air filter not sure I can say its worth the $$$.. Its your call, if you want your vehicle to sound and feel BAD ASS? Get it! if you want to save 1 mpg put $300 in your savings account instead :)In closing, I will say I Love it, and I feel it was worth it, heres a couple pics....

Noticeably different
The install was fast, recommend reading it thru and then starting the install. I threw this in a 2013 5.0 and it sounds better now. It’s accommpanied by a tuner and pedal commander. 2 mpg gain since the install

Best cold air intake I could have gotten
Update: 7 years later still have original filter, just clean and oil it once or twice a year. Works great still sounds great zero issuesThis was the first aftermarket part I put in the 2012 F-150 that I just got, and I don't regret that at all. I installed this drunk and cut the 3/8" vacuum tubing instead of the skinny one so I had to go get a piece from an auto parts store, but even drunk this was incredibly easy to install. I got about 15 mpg city before installing and now I get about 16.5 city. Others complained about it being too loud on the highway, it's only remotely "noisy" when slamming on the gas, other than that it adds an awesome sound under the hood. I don't even care about putting an aftermarket exhaust on my truck anymore. Only thing I recommend is once installing it and driving for a while, check the connection of all the tubing because mine came lose so make sure they are very snug after it vibrates for a bit.

So very happy with this product
I cannot believe how awesome my engine sounds now. I have a 2014 f150 XLT with a 5.0 V8. Everything fit perfectly. K&N says install time is 90 minutes or less... if you have even the slightest knowledge of cars and can follow simple directions with pictures, it shouldn't take anywhere near that long. It took me maybe 20 minutes tops. All the parts are high quality and came for a great price. I was very pleasantly surprised at how awesome my truck sounds now. SO aggressive! I can definitely feel a quicker throttle response and more horse power. Haven't noticed any better fuel economy but that is definitely due to the fact that I slam the gas peddle any chance I get now. That sound change for such a simple upgrade is very addictive. I will definitely buy again for my next truck.

Awesome
I added this to my f150 5.0. I already had the edge programmer and the cold air intake woke it up even more! Throttle responds so quick. It sounds great and added a nice deep tone to the truck. If you have someone who rides with you frequently who complains about you “accelerating to hard” and you don’t want to hear that, might not want to give them rides any more. You’ll want to do it more but also even at mild rpms 3-35K range it does sound like there is the option for take off, but is that a bad thing? When you are able to keep your foot off the floor you will see an increase in your mpg mine was about a mile to 1.5 or so.
