I Canโt Rave About These Enough!
Where have these containers been all my life?! Seriously, if you are tired of watching your expensive produce wilt, mold, or turn soggy just days after you buy it, you need this set immediately. I had tried every trick in the bookโpaper towels, complicated plastic bags, and even just leaving things in the store packagingโand nothing worked. My cilantro would wilt in three days, and my biggest frustration was always my blueberries. I love blueberries, but they would consistently get fuzzy or mushy by day four. The FreshWorks Miracle After switching to the Rubbermaid FreshWorks containers, my produce life has been completely revolutionized. The proprietary filter lid and elevated tray system actually work as advertised: Blueberries: The ultimate test. I am thrilled to report that my blueberries are finally lasting over a week! They stay firm, plump, and perfect, right down to the last handful. This alone justifies the price of the entire set. Greens: Lettuce, spinach, and that aforementioned tricky cilantro stay crisp and green for far longer than I ever thought possible. No more slimy, brown edges! Strawberries: They used to turn white with mold so fast; now they hold up beautifully. These containers aren't just saving my food; they're saving me money and reducing my food waste dramatically. I canโt rave about these enoughโthey are simple to use, easy to clean, and genuinely extend the life of fresh ingredients. This is a must-have for anyone serious about eating more produce and cutting back on grocery store waste!

Worth it
I shopped for these months ago, but ended up buying the GreenBoxes because they were less expensive. They didnโt work all that well, though, so I decided to buy a set of these, just to see if there was a difference. Boy howdy, was there... my strawberries have lasted for a week and a half without molding, and I didnโt even have them in the produce drawer. (Containers are a bit tall for that.) Blackberries are going on a week so far, and look perfect. I bought the boxes d/t COVID; usually I just buy what I can eat in a few days, but now, Iโve been going every 10-14 days to the store. That means buying more produce at a time, and worrying more about waste. These have been fantastic. I bought another set of bigger and smaller ones, and just ordered a third. Theyโre not cheap, but I do love the fact that they are well made, not thin plastic. They are also good without any expensive replacement filters, unlike a certain pricey rival. These are sturdy, much easier to open than the Green Boxes (which matters when you donโt want to send everything flying across the floor), and wash really easily by hand. The newer kind doesnโt have a little perforated tray; they just changed the design to have a bumpy floor in the container. It works beautifully, and itโs nice not to have to clean the tray, too. But I have both kinds now, and both work well. Considering the amount of delicate produce waste I was seeing before this, theyโre worth it. I can now save $, buy my berries at the warehouse club, and keep them in these long enough to eat them. I can have more than one type of berry or vegetable at a time with these to extend their life. For a single person, thatโs a big deal. Iโm most impressed with how they are for berries, but theyโre pretty good for delicate mixed greens, too. Getting rid of the others, and replacing with these. FYI: each of these strawberry sized boxes holds 16 oz of strawberries perfectly. I buy the 2 lb box, and use 2 containers. For best results, take out the soft/damaged ones; theyโre not going to recover, will just hasten spoilage of others. But the good berries stay good for longer. Love the smaller size (2.5 cup) for 6 oz containers of raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries, even jalapenos or other fresh things that might need to hang out for a while in the fridge.

Helps keep produce fresh
As a single person Iโd always get frustrated bc my produce would go bad so fast. I ended up buying these based on a recommendation of a friend and so glad I bought them. Itโs not a miracle worker but I notice that my produce donโt spoil as fast and I can stretch out how long I can keep them.

Seems to do what it claims
Iโve been using the Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Saver containers for a while now, and they are excellent. They effectively extend the shelf life of berries like strawberries and blueberries, keeping them fresh significantly longer than standard storage. The containers are well-made and fit perfectly in my refrigerator's fruit drawer. I am very satisfied with this purchase, as they truly deliver on their claims and offer great value for the price.

A must have, that's all there is to it, you need these!!!
I really needed the 138oz. instead of the 144oz., just because the 138oz. suffices to fit most heads of broccoli, whereas the 144oz. is tall enough for my lower veggie drawer that nothing else can really fit on top of it, whereas I have containers which can fit nicely in the drawer on top of the 138oz. (I measured). So, Rubbermaid, pretty please, bring back the 138oz. size!! Anyway, since this 144oz. size is a little big for, say, two heads of broccoli, it will work well for a large head of cauliflower cut in half or into quarters. Same if your broccoli head is ginormous, it may still fit in this container, but you can cut it in half along the length to fit it better. The 144oz. is a great container for those bulky items, and the little water draining bumps on the bottom will help to preserve produce which becomes more vulnerable to decay due to being cut in half, ... so overall, I think a container like this is a true necessity any way you look at it. That said, I'm 62 and have never really taken my fridge organizing very seriously and I thought that food going bad was just an ongoing thing that everyone had to look out for, like bad weather. But, now that I have ptsd and am an empty nester, wow, keeping produce from going bad is a real challenge. I used to think that produce preserving containers were for wimps or cheaters or something like that, lol, but not anymore. I caved in to the idea of a produce preserving container (my first were long skinny smallish ones for small amounts of carrots and celery), and I'm 100% hooked now!!! You do have to take measurements and get the right sizes for your fridge and all, but it's so worth it!!! It's a game changer and cooking is more fun, as it should be, knowing that your food is in good condition and you won't have the depressing rotting food going on. Since my fridge lower drawer-bins have that awkward shape to accommodate for the motor or whatever is down there at the bottom back, I wasn't using them very well, but this 144oz. container fits very perfectly (though as I mentioned, the 138oz. one would fit well, too, with enough room at the top to fit one more container). This is real progress for me, I got the carrots and celery dealt with (so I can have yummy mirpoix), and now I've got the more "3D" produce: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and small heads of Romaine and other lettuces -- and bell peppers down!!! The smaller (88oz.) in the set is great for small amounts of string beans, snap peas, snow peas, Brussel sprouts ---and carrots and celery, too. I am considering other sizes and also fresh herb preserving containers, too. Right now I keep my green onions in a drinking glass with a teeny bit of water at the bottom, and a green produce preserving bag over the top and that works pretty well, especially since it gives the green onions room to grow, which they do do. But, the bag is still awkward to put onto the splayed out green onions. I have not come across a good green onion keeper, so I may stick with my current technique, but, I will keep going with my new project of getting produce keepers because they're so worth it!! And I do recommend the set I have of the 144oz. and 88oz. because the sizes are handy and useful.

Best Product Ever!
These are a total game changer. They keep vegetables fresh for 1-2 weeks or more, depending up on the veg. I have bought them for 3 other friends so far. No more tossing out wilted, slimy produce after just a couple of days!

Keeps food fresh for longer
I love these containers. I have several in different sizes, they keep produce fresh for a long time. The lettuce is very crisp, and I have had it for 3 weeks. The lids fit airtight!

Poor replacement for previous version
We own the previous version of these with the inner tray. They work wonderfully to keep produce fresh. We would love to have a couple more, but they're apparently discontinued. This version with the bumps along the bottom is a poor replacement. Fine for regular food storage, but does nothing for fruits/veggies, especially berries. There's a marked difference in how long produce lasts from the previous design. We've put cut berries in both the old and new versions at the same time and the Rubbermaid with the tray is the clear winner in freshness. We will use these for regular food storage but not for produce. We're disappointed not to have the tray.
